Question Re-discovered Xb Gt

I came Soooo close to selling my XB GT over the weekend and only to find out that all the numbers match completely.
I feel like an ***!!
Ive been away in America for 6 years and back home for 2 and all the while my GT has sat neglected on a friends farm property.
I have two questions for anyone out there who can help.
I would like to know what number my XBGT 4 door sedan is off the prodution line , if at all possible, and where to find the number on the vin plate.

And second, after doing a bit of homework on the ford sites i discovered that its colour is only 1 of 5 made so if i have a XBGT 4 door sedan that is 1 of 5 made in that colour and has all matching numbers and all factory options, how much could it be worth??

1 in 5? 100's of thousands. (Well bit exagerated) Cant think of what colour it is to be so rare???? What is the vin number. On the rego, shock tower, build plate! That will tell what it is.

The VIN # on the compliance plate will start with JG something I think, from what I've seen of XBGT's on ebay its usually JG66****** and there is a number stamped on your left shock tower which will be the same which should also match your engine number.

There were a lot of 'out there colours used on the XB's. Must of been something in the water back then.

Mushroom Beige or Rothmans blue are the two colours where only five sedans made.

Sorgo Port Wine and Ultra White where 5 GT cars in total made.

it all depends on the condition as to $ value. i would possibly be interested in the car. put up some details eg rust, complete, colour, auto, manual, damage etc and the vin number will be jg33 the next letters will tell you year and month of production (also on the id plates)

ps a rare colour doesnt always make it worth more eg mushroom beige

my XBT is Antique Beige, one of 9.

Paint Code "C" 1976.(code "c" for 1974, was Sky View Blue).

I had 2 XBGT's with the same colour code, sold the one with black trim, It had been painted red pepper.

hey !!!!! who`s knocking mushroom beige as a colour :the_finge

my old fairmont only took me about 10 years before i decided not to change the colour. :evil_laug

i must admit that when i first got it i hated the colour.... boreing. but if i repainted it now i would probably keep it the same. mainly to keep it looking original.

if i had been there to buy a new XB GT , mushroom beige would not have been my first chioce. :

I'm keen for a look, half hour drive to jamestown.

I've been playing with these cars for years.

I'd bring my GT for a run on the Historic Rego, its $112 for the year, but you can only drive it 90 days.

From Factory it should have an FMX Auto, I sold mine about 10 years ago, I still regret it as I sold it for $4000 (non original engine) mine had black interior with cloth inserts, Factory roof, Air, electric windows, 4wheels disc brakes, but the body was pretty average, I would love to know where it is now (was sold in Melbourne).
Here are some pics.

Cheers

The car would need a resto, how much is hard to say, being that its an automatic 2v small port engine my guess would be 10-15k would be a fair price..
