we have an invitation to attend the HSV Deca day on the sunday of the queens birthday weekend, sunday the 7th june.
more details will be added when they become available. expect cost to be similar to previous years, around $60 for entry & $50 for a AASA licence. at this stage it is for ORSM members ONLY until we know the number of spots allocated to us, if there are any unused they will be open to friends. interested in attending add your details. 1. it is a day spent tetsing your car controll skills, it's not overly hard on the car as it's done at slow to medium speeds.
there a courses set out using witches hats for you to navigate your way around as quick as you are comfortable with, 2 of the 3 courses are set on a concrete skid pan, even though there can be a lot of noise from the tyres they are not getting worn away.. here is some in car footage of what you have to do

so are there any details for the day?
what time does it start? are we having a pre meet? what are the final allowed numbers? is this at the deca in shepparton or somewhere else? does anyone have a count on how many holdens are going? are friends allowed to have any car they want? what activities are we doing? eg- circuit, cones, skid pan (wet and dry)? just wanted to know so i can get ready properly. thanks. matt. |

Matt, i've been trying to find out more details but the contact i have isn't replying.
going on the past 2 years we have had 20 spots, yes it's DECA in Shep start time i think is about 10am there are normaly about 40 entries from the HSV club but not all of them in holdens, we are usually in a seperate group to them. Friends can use any car. the day is set up with 3 timed courses, 2 on the skid pan & 1 on the back track, you need to have a helmet on for the back track. in the lunch break they set up a challenge course on the skid pan, this is 2 courses side by side the same & you are in a direct competition with the other car, win & you keep going, lose & your out. at the end of the day they wet the skid pan down & set up a large circle, the aim is to try & drift around the complete circle we will have a pre meet at Ford HQ, about 6:30am for a departure time of 6:45-7am this will get us to DECA about 8:15-8:30
