Hey guys, been in a real big argument with my dad and his friend who reckon that my EL I6 GLI (auto) does 17 - 20 L per 100km : And they just do not believe me when I tell them that it only does low 11's per 100... I have driven the car so i know but my dad and his friend (well a ******** if I may add) seem to think otherwise and they haven't even driven the car... Im fed up of their crap so can I please have your support and for the owners of EF/EL I6 stocko's to PLEASE post up their fuel consumption per 100km general city driving...
the way to work it out if you guys do not allready know is: liters of petrol x 100 / mileage cheers! |

Unless something is seriously wrong, they won't use anywhere near 17-20L with normal driving. Your figure of 11L sounds about right, it'll be less on the highway, and slightly more, maybe up to 15L in city driving.

Just bought an EF Futura Wagon to use as a daily driver from home to work everyday.
Have only driven it around the suburbs so far, and did 400 klms and filled it up. It took 60 litres. This works out to 15 litres per 100 klms. I thought this was slightly higher than expected but appears to be about average going by this thread. My AUII Ghia 4.0 VCT is worse than a 5.0 V8 ! |

Wouldnt think there would be any way to considerably reduce fuel economy other than keeping it serviced and in good tune. Unless of course you get an 'ebay super special fuel gizmo switch' which reduces fuel consumption by 40%
15L/100km seems to be the going rate for EF/EL around the city. |

My EL Mont 4.0 gets around 14L/100 (give or take) peak hour Adelaide driving.
That said, I got around 17L/100 towing my EB Mont Adelaide-Bendigo.

Holy thread dig!
My average using the trip computer is always 12.4L. Highway I've been down to 8.2 at the least from memory but that all dpends on the incline and/or which way the wind is blowing. I used 3bond super engine conditioner recently and it madde a huge difference to my idle and DTE, i'm hoping i translates to better economy.

Correct me if Im wrong , The ED is cheapest for car parts period , which means you can spend that extra on fuel and still be equal to modern car expenditure
$800 to replace water pump on my Bosses 4WD ,, WTF ???
