Talking Women And Performance Cars

How many cooks here, oops! I mean women have performance vehicles?

I mean turbos, v8s, modified cars or anything not really the norm for women to drive. Bascially anything performance related.

This thread was prompted due to a very persistant lady ringing me up wanting to buy my XR6T. Haggling and using every trick in the book. To be honest I was caught a little off guard as I never exepted a women to want to buy my car.

I would love to hear what the ladies have to say.

I'm no lady but dont let her feminine wilds sway you.
It's common for guys to get women to do their negotiating for them because women can be distraction.

My wife wants a b series turbo utility despite me saying several times that its not a car that a woman would want, which I usually get told not to tell her what she wants because she knows already, seems a little strange considering all the cars you see girls/women driving every day (hyundai excel) etcettera.

My girlfriend currently drives *cough* a barina but would like something old school, like a mini or vw beetle, not really performance cars but its cool my gf likes classic not plastic!

P.S i am trying to get her into an early Falcon like an XR/XT, but finding one can be easier said than done

I will put my hand up as both a woman and a driver of performance cars. I currently divide my time between a BF Super Pursuit Ute and a Turbo Mini JCW.

Prior to owning Utey, I purchased a BA MK11 GT - this was my first introduction to Performance cars before that I only had "girls" cars.

I have run laps at numerous tracks and my claim to fame is being only .03 second behing Lynton at QR - I must also point out that Lynton was driving a modified GT and I was driving a stocko SP.... Sorry honey - just pointing out the facts!

My 1/4 mile times were pretty reasonable too - certainly on par with the lads.

I currently work for a world class driver training facilty and get paid good money to drive Porsche, Lotus etc

So I guess you could say that I love my performance cars... certainly would never own a "boring" car ever again. I just don't do practical, conservative, appropriate cars... its not in my blood.

Cheers, Tori

When I first met my missus she was driving a 1.3lt Daihatsu charade. Was a big step up for her when she inhereted my xh ute (modded to 270hp). Then she got behind the wheel of the typhoon and now you should hear her complain when the outback 'doesn't overtake like it should!'

I think she was more upset about selling the ute and having to buy a 'safe' family car with no grunt than I was.

Missus wants an 4door pillarless impala. trying to talk het into a two door ss impala though. She would probably have one expect it won't fit down our side access to the shed (also which is would barely fit). lol.
She actually surprised me the other day when she said she'd like to drive a car that has excessive power so that she could basically smoke the wheels in all gears whenever she wanted.
She won't drive the XY though. lol. She see's how touchy it is and how much I have to man handle it, no power steering (she drives a Hyundai) and that I love the car as much as her. :togo:
