Default 52yo's Aston Martin impounded under antihoon

http://news.ninemsn.com.au/article.aspx?id=417183

A Perth millionaire and socialite has had her car impounded under anti-hoon laws, after she was allegedly clocked doing almost 70km/h over the speed limit, police say.
Police allege Rhonda Noreen Wyllie, 52, was behind the wheel of an Aston Martin coupe, clocked at 169km/h by police at Oakford, in Perth's southern suburbs, on Monday morning.
Ms Wyllie, the widow of property developer and investor Bill Wyllie, is a non-executive director of the Wyllie Group, headed up by her daughter Melissa Karlson.
Police said traffic enforcement officers were carrying out speeding checks on the Tonkin Highway about 11.55am (WDT) Monday when an Aston Martin sports car was spotted travelling at a rapid pace.
"Police allegedly recorded the coupe at 169 kilometres an hour in a 100 kilometres an hour zone," police spokesman Ian Hasleby said.
"The driver stopped the vehicle and it was seized by police and impounded for 48 hours under the state's hoon legislation."
Ms Wyllie would be summonsed to appear in court at a later date on a charge of reckless driving, police said.

70k's over the limit would have to be textbook hooning, right? Age has no relevance (although you wouldn't expect a 52yo!)

good to see these hoon laws aren't just aimed at the under 25's, if your speeding at any age you should get the same punishment, pretty funny a 52yo doin 170km in a aston though

That part of Tonkin Hwy always seems to bring them out. Must be some geological significance/magnetic fields/earth forces going crazy?

Good to see she was nabbed.

Edit: I was at that spot the other night during full moon - insanity everywhere!

It's like the Roe Hwy extension. It's such a good piece of road, it's not heavily utilised (although with easter and everyone coming back from down south it probably was) and there is nothing around for miles... the traffic flows quite nicely at 120-130kmh and if you are doing 100 you are constantly being overtaken.

No excuse but that's how it is.

Other states could learn from those roads. Lots of money spent to build nice big, safe roads and still not a toll booth in sight.

the posession of these items in nsw is an offence not just using them you are not allowed to have them in your possession ( even in a box under your bed).

Not quite that easy , I as a ham radio operator can and do own gear that works in this range , the law is a farce and easily challenged .

So these are Ok to still use in NSW despite the filth here having "radar- detector detectors"?

How do you manage to still use them without getting found?

Indeed, 2nd most wealthy woman in WA I believe. Behind old Lang Hancock's daughter. Still measurable in the Billions$$ though.
I don't think she'll challenge it too hard, as what's the likely fine?? say $2000 and a short suspension from driving. Easier to cop it on the chin and give the cheauffer a bit more over time.

That area is also not far from Kerosene Lane the home of 1950's and earlier illegal street drag racing so maybe she was feeling nostalgic.

She would have to be up there with the women that didn't stop at the RBT last week. As she was breast feeding her baby and didn't notice the police signally her. :
