I am about to change the timing belt on a 02/2006 Ford Fiesta manual. German Assembled model with 163,000km on the clock. I have changed timing belts on toyotas and hondas before and yes I know it can be a pain.
Any constructive tips about the job- tensioners etc. ? Are there any special tools required? Is there anything else to look for or be aware of? It is getting a kind of major service. I will be changing the two outside belts, heater hoses, radiator coolant and radiator hoses, air filter, and oil change at the same time. Thanks William |

No I have not done the belt change yet. I have the timing belt and 2 serpentine belts.
The car has done 91,000 km. Should I change the tensioner? It looks like i need a flat bar to lock the cams and a long 10mm bolt to lock the crank at top dead center. Also there is not much room to get the timing cover and crank pulley off I'm wondering if I have to drop the K Frame? I do not have a lift. I am doing it on the driveway tomorrow. Will |
