Like Datsun/Nissan. Tried for years to win the Bathurst 1000 and the two wins they got was when they pulled up stumps.

What an ending! Even had my family on the edge of their seats yelling at the screen, considering they had no interest in the race throughout the day.

What a terrific race. It had everthing, including the new track breaking up. Great to see Ford win another. Perhaps the officials should review the rules and not allow cars to be tickered with during a race suspension.

Although I 'respect' whincup....it was AWESOME to see him get the vettle treatment when he ignored his teams fuel instructions. I know it wasn't cut n dry but he perhaps should have slowed a bit earlier and used his fuel to defend for 2 or 3 laps instead of only half a lap. Very silly
GO CHAZ MOSTERT GO FORD Feel sorry for FROSTY, gizzy, reynalds and a tiny tiny bit for lowndsey....but he spun frosty and was lucky to not get black flagged immediately. |

Agree. Dramatic. Chaotic. Great win. But not the best Bathurst 1000.

Always had a healthy respect for Lowndes but no more !
Good drive Chaz and considering Morris was your partner makes it all the more credible

Whincup coughed on the last lap, and Frosty's time was around 7 seconds slower too, so I reckon he did too, so there's every chance he may not have finished top 2 anyway - maybe 3rd, but probably 4th. Ifs and buts I suppose.... FPR still won, last to first!

What a race. Real heart in the mouth stuff at the end.
Should have been a FPR 1-2! Go Ford...

I remember years ago Murphy was given a drive through for hitting someone from behind (Lowndes ?) when it was obvious it wasn't his fault. If someone slows up and the car behind whacks it surely the stewards would be able to access data to show this. I am pretty sure the car speed at every point on the track is very similar for every car out there, do they check this before handing out penalties ?

Amazing.
A car that's being killed off gets off the floor and wins the BIG race 2 years in a row. I thought Winterbottoms car was the most consistent through the whole race and then his number 2 car takes it out. Yep it was a goodie this race. |

I just cannot get over skaife what a drip that bloke is.
And for lowndes, well I didn't think he had a bad bone in him, can be very erratic at times and that may have been the cause although maybe a reckless attempt at rounding Frosty up. Very poor I'm sorry Craig you can apologize all you like. I will thank you for creating history at last to FIRST for Chaz. Go FORD.

Hell yeah. Really sorry for Whincup, not.
Who would have thought Paul Morris was a great co-driver choice after everyone panned that decision. |

It seems they were hard pressed to find someone a similiar size to fit into the car (and its likely Morris brought some cash to the table for the drive)

Just got back from a very long day, WOW what a rush, highs and lows. Frosty looked great not so much Owen and Chaz seemed to be at the end of the train for so long, where the hell did he come from? It was the most intense race I have seen for ages and such a great result for Ford. I even got a few cheers leaving the car park in my blue Fg.
Well done team Ford
