30 things I must do before I hit 30

Just before my 21st birthday I made up a list of “30 things I must do before I hit 30”. A couple of months ago I remembered this list and dragged it out and have decided to have a bloody good bash at achieving the 30 things on the list which means that I will have an extraordinarily memorable next 10.5 months to look forward to.

Being a naïve young thang at the time I created the list there are a few items that need to be replaced as I will not be doing them (i.e. I am not getting married or having children in the next few months). So I have been trying to think of replacement ideas…

I am after suggestions - What do you kids reckon are Must Do’s before you hit 30?

Well its a bit embarrasing to post the entire list - I did write it just before my 21st after all but mostly things like this -

16. Sunbake topless on a tropical island.
17. Stop biting my nails.
18. Scuba Dive on the Great Barrier Reef.
19. Watch the sunrise on the beach and watch it set over another.
20. Jump out of a plane – Sky Dive.

This works out really well, you can do most of that in one day.

- Book a resort on a tropical island and turn up friday afternoon, watch the sunset on one of the western side of the beach.
- Wake up before dawn on saturday and head to an eastern beach on the island, watch it rise.
- Stay there for a few hours and get that topless tropical island thing sorted. - Meet up with a reef cruise mid morning and go scuba diving (they will teach you how).
- Stop biting nails because its very hard to do through a wetsuit and if you do succeed, is going to taste like salt and 50 million years of fish poo.
- Book a Sky Diving adventure for sunday and get that sorted.
- Return to work monday.

Eaaaaaaaaaaasy.

How about making your 1st million for starters (If you haven't already). But, as a suggestion, why don't you post of pic of yourself seeing as you are just a youngen' of 29 and let the virile youg men on this forum make a few suggestions. For me, at 47, my wife wouldn't let me do half the things I could suggest.

Here's One you may allready have one your list ?

Do something to improve another person / s life by helping them in whatever way is needed, and with no benifit to yourself except quietly knowing you have in some way helped a stranger move forward.

When you do this they will often ask how they can repay you, answer. Just tell them to help out some one in the same way you did, when they are ready.

good advice . i remember buying a homeless man that lived on a corner near work a loaf of bread a carton of milk and a box of chocolates for easter one day (spontaniously ) these things you never forget. try it . but then again i did forget it until DOC wrote his thread.

Ahh fer Lords sake, turning 30 is not the end of of your life sheeesh. People should seriously realise that their twenties are *not* the ants pants in life, be well and truely assured of this. Fun, sure,- but much, much more to be had. I had great times in my twenties, but in no way would I want to go back. (Cept maybe to 'correct' a few things)....

It's funny, but in many a Continental EU 'pub' those dancing are well above the 30 mark by in large with 40 - 50 not uncommon. Some folk just age cute and well.....

On the physical front, I remind women folk that you at your sexual peak around 30 - 40. And that continues, be much assured.... (So male to mention this).

Things get better and you do adjust, how you treat yourself in your twenties and teenage years has bearing on your future physical life, stay away from borish drugs and their abuse, keeping yourself well as possible and taking care of yourself daily shall see you in good stead in later life.

Your as old and dead ONLY as much as you allow yourself or less mature experienced others dictate - in this country.

Do those things in your list, but keep some of them for much later, be assured you have no need to rush that list.

My 92 year grandpa went touring through Germany a few years back, folk kept asking him on his train 'vay not drive our roads?' (Yes, at 92), his answer; 'we have bloody roads in Australia', I want to see this place in comfort.

My point being, - you can keep going as long as you wish, and if you give-up on life too soon, you will only put yourself at rest sooner. Live life till you die and then go to rest I say.

Funny I can from it from the opposite angle. I pretended that I was 80 years old (now, not in the future) and wrote a list of the things I regretted NOT doing. I now use that list to remind myself to do all of those things that I still can, which are truly important to me.

As for cars for example, two of the items on my list was to own a high powered sports car and the other a new GT. Since I made the list a few years ago I've owned both so it appears to be working! Now for the supercharged car !!:dr_Evil:

My suggestions for you:
For your soul: Identify the people you care about the most in this world and tell them (boring I know..lol)

For your indulgence: Drive a manual V8 hard around a race track!! Or take a ride with SBR.

To build character: Do one thing that completely takes you out of your comfort zone

This one is on my list too - Does the GT or SP count?

Interesting bit of info for you, I am having a lot more fun in my thirties than I did in my twenties. Fun often costs money and now I have more of that so it is all good.

No they don't sorry- they are muscle cars which are also great, but will not give you the same experience as say a Porche, Supra RZ, Ferrari etc, even a RX8 or 350Z. If you have a 'sports car' on your list Tori, you need to try one of those!

I turn 30 on Sunday, and the only thing I want to do is not cry because I am getting old and gravity is hitting.

I would agree with Doc and think of things that will give you intrinsic rewards. Materialistic things are great, but it doesn't matter how much you have, if you don't feel good on the inside, then there's no point in having them.

Help someone out, sponsor a child, adopt an orangutan, donate as much to your favourite charity, or if your not in the position financially, donate some of your time to their fundraising.
