Transmission extension housing seal - were the tail shaft goes in
I would also service the trans as that oil is burnt it should be red.

When you drop the pan and oil there is still about 2 liters in the torque converter .
If it was really dark brown or black this will mix with the new oil changing the color. Your call but I would replace the extension housing seal drop the oil again and also put some LUKAS stop slips in it, it helps rejuvenate the seals and coates the bands and clutch packs thus helping to extend the life of the trans.

Before you go further just check the valve cover gasket or the head gasket near the firewall isn't leaking. They sometimes leak their in that hidden spot between the head and the firewall and drip down onto the transmission.

I bought the car second hand, and when I drop the pan to change the oil at 300k, the filter still said "made in USA" for ford. I guess it has never ever been change. TQ 95 is bright red, I guess it's really dirty, that's why it has turned yellowish back? |

You can replace the extension housing seal, but it will leak again within 2000k's, take the extension housing off and replace the bush and the seal at the same time, the bush flogs out and then the seal goes, so just replacing the seal is just a band aid fix, the tailshaft flaps around in the extension housing flogging the seal out again.
Just make sure you align the hole so it lubricates, there is a special tool for fitting these, you might have to get a transmission shop to fit the bush, just take them the housing and the bush. https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/REAR-EXT...gAAOSw8btgR6Xe |

There seems to be a huge price difference for the power steering pump between wreckers ($60) and autoshops ($180)....
There autoshops says they 'renew' it? Are they full of ****? |
