So many things I love about this - if you are of my vintage (mid-40s) or older and from an AFL state then this will likely jog some memories.
Not just the players - remember suburban grounds, and mud, and bumps, and shirt-fronts, and Fitzroy, and streamers and stuff? And remember when the league actually used bodies clashing in their own official promos? Now we can't even have jumpers clash. That's not to say I support the dirty sniper stuff (who is the Hawthorn guy at 2:50 - you can see him lining poor mate up from 30m away?) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GbtiUrHUhRw And of course, can't do nostalgic VFL/AFL without this - from an era where it was not just socially acceptable, it was mandatory to release evelenty billion balloons into the environment on the last Saturday in September: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MuuwUd0bSyE |
