Default Problems logging in

Hi guys I'm having issues logging in on my iPhone 4. When I log in it opens a page thanking me for logging in then the next screen says I need to log in again.

Any ideas? And no I don't use taptalk or whatever the app is called.

As mentioned elsewhere, AFF underwent some upgrades early on Sunday morning.
We have been refining a few things here and there all day, so a few minor issues may be experienced, until we get these changes finalised. It is anticipated that for most members these items will be resolved shortly...

Default Re: Problems logging in

The reason is because it wants you to go to the message it is trying to direct you too before you get on the AFF - I had the same problem before I realised and if anyone should have known, it was me!!! I was trying to ignore it but it is persisting so just click on the link, read it and then you are ready to resume again.

Russell has a message all must read before logging in.

The feature will be used from time to time to ensure everyone gets to know whatever the current info or situation is. Great tool for alerting members about anything.

Cheers

If it is the same thing as I had it was giving you the log in screen, once you put in user name and password it said "Thank you for logging in" and then took you straight back to the log in screen, it didn't actually log you into the forums properly.

But clearing the cache and cookies sorted the problem fine.

I have seen the link that directs you to a post before (once yesterday actually), and this was different.

By the way, I like the new upgrade, as with any upgrade there are bound to be a few issues to iron out.
Thank you for putting in the hard yards to keep this forum up to date and functioning well.

Along with the new version come new cookies - as your old ones are no longer valid your login won't persist.

The only solution is to clear cache and cookies in your browser to get a new one that the new version recognises.

It will happen to most people over the next few days.

Cheers

Was just going to ask that very same question. I have so much stuff saved or set up to auto log in and would prefer to not have to clear the lot if at all possible?

The above fix worked for Firefox 16.0.1, note that even if you have FF set to not remember browsing history you STILL need to clear your cache.

Thanks Russell,

Followed the instructions for both IE and MFF. The cookies folder had around 15500 in IE (don't know if that is a little or a lot??) but nothing I could find was connected with AFF.

Anyone else found the same?

MFF on the other hand had around 8 cookies linked to AFF and I deleted them all. See what happens I guess.

Cheers.

IE is a buggy software with that much 0-day floating around it would only be rivaled if Adobe brought out an operating system. If anyone still uses it, I encourage you to seriously consider an alternative.

My policy is delete everything, restart browser and try again.

For those trying to clear cookies on Android phones:

Step 1

Start up the Android web browser.

Step 2

Push the “Menu” on the phone to bring up the options for the web browser.

Step 3

Select the “More” options in the lower right hand corner.

Step 4

The “More” option has a lot of features. The one you want is the “Settings” function. Select that option.

Step 5

In the next screen you will see all of the settings for the browser. Scroll down until you find the one that says “Clear all cookie data”. Select that option.

Step 6

You phone will now ask if you really want to clear all of the cookie data. Just select “OK” and all of the internet cookies will be deleted.

Hi I'm pretty dumb when it comes to computers, I'm logging in alright but I have to log on manually all the time. Is that right or do I have to delete some cookies too? Whatever that means.

In my case that made no difference since the update. In Mozilla the problem has been fixed after clearing the AFF cookies but I still have the issue with IE.

I'm hesitant to clear everything as I have forgotten a lot of stuff regarding log ins etc. For the moment I'll stick to using Mozilla for AFF and leave the rest of my browsing for IE.

In a about a months time I may re-format my system anyway after digging through my junk for the original software CD's... it's well overdue.

The second phase of that is to ensure that your browser actually is set to accept cookies as they are now mandatory.

I then closed Chrome and opened again and clicked my AFF short cut, no more signing in
