Bought another AU, on the way home passenger airbag cover falls off wtf.... have a look and see white plugs in the cover & in the dash, but no way of them clipping together.
Bit worried atm, has the airbag gone off before? Ive never seen behind that cover so dont really know what im looking at, or if the airbag in there has been replaced etc. But wondering how the hell does this cover clip back on? As its just resting there |

From what I understand, the clips that hold the cover on are a use once-only type that need replacing every time the cover is removed and/or the airbag deploys. Check out Ford part No. AU F04B26A.
The fact that the cover just fell off makes me think the previous owner did a shonky fixup to pass the roadworthy. |

thanks for the info syz & dingo
from the pics, looks like the clips have split in half. Why on earth would anyone have a reason to pry the airbag cover off? The airbag looks like a paper bag with perforated sections.... does that sound right lol ive never seen one before. Im worried something not right here. Dont wanna invest in a car that has a non functioning airbag. |

From what I can see in your photo, that airbag in there hasn't gone off.
But don't necessarily think that an airbag has gone off, and been replaced with another - these cars are 15 odd years old now, and have some stories to tell. One explanation could be exactly what the young kid up the road did when fitting an aftermarket stereo to his AU ute. He listened to his mates, and tried to pry out the large oval centre section of the dash (rather than use the radio removal tools) and also pryed off the airbag cover thinking it would make it easier to run the wires instead of pulling out the inner glovebox (too many screws was that excuse). |

Hi Everyone
I have manufactured some passenger airbag clips. They are stronger than OEM and come in a set of 4. I have lots of positive feedback from the groups that i am on Facebook with. Here is the link below https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Ford-AU-...kAAOSwW6hfmVQ1 |
