Everest seemed to have a good month as did Ranger 4x4 (Ford Ranger 4396, Toyota HiLux 3891). Mustang lead it segment.

Looking at those numbers though DFB, Ranger is 4396 plus 455 which is 4851 not 4396.

Well, looks like my prediction that Kia would take Ford again before Ford took 3rd spot didn't take long to come to fruition, that Mitsubishi leapt them both is of interest too.
That Triton is certainly making headway, i'm seeing them everywhere.

For some reason VFACTS separates 4x2 and 4x4

Ironically, the older Ranger gets, the better sales seem to become....
If only we could convince Ford to go after the $23,990 tradie 4x2 Ute.

maybe the reason Everest did better was because high price Endura made it look better value...
Seriously, what Ford DH approves a vehicle like this for our market knowing that it's getting canned in Europe..

Until Ford sorts Ford Europe, Ford Aust, can't even get a leg into the SUV conversation.
where's our hybrid Explorer/Puma/Escape?...where's our anything?

I meant that T6 Ranger is now 8 years old, I know that's relative
with Hilux and Colorado being even older under their make up...

It's all about the need for maturity of design and market familiarity
and trust, being reliable for more than a couple of years.

A lot of the jump in sales numbers no doubt linked to EOFY
so interesting to see what pull ahead of sales happens.
The tide can go out a long way........

I'm thinking the same...the only thing I can see is the dropping of Edge in UK and really any chance of a RHD model in future was a very recent decision that has caught out Ford Aust.

Maybe the 7 seat Escape will be Ok to fill the loss if it's offered here however it's a VW Tiguan Allspace size-class. The new Explorer hybrid looks like a ripper, will be available in Europe before the US but it's not RHD ...a Kluger/CX-9/SanteFe competitor but not here....(if I win Lotto I'm going to buy and rhd convert a Lincoln Aviator )

Makes me appreciate my Territory even more...

It’s a shame isn’t it ?

Bean counters taking low volume markets ( in comparison) out of product cycles.

I’ve driven an Endura Titanium it’s a nice bit of kit, but it seems it’s fate for this market is sealed.

We’ll look at the 2020 Escape next year, the only thing that could be a concern will be shoulder / hip room for the back seat with a baby seat etc.

We miss our Territory, it was just brilliant and an amazing vehicle in its time.

If Hilux and Ranger had different model designations for 2wd vss 4wd, the largest selling vehicle last month was a Ford

Does it really matter though, even if Ford sold an additional 1000 4x2 Rangers and claimed the no1 spot for model sales they're still down in 5th spot, it might make for isolated bragging rights, but im sure Toyota's 3 to 1 total sales over Ford will keep them content.
Lets not forget, Fords king of the mountain accounts for 3/4 of its total sales, Toyota's Hilux accounts for a 1/4 with the Prado, Kluger, Rav4 and Corolla all featuring in the top 20 models and ahead of the next best selling Ford product.

Putting all your eggs in one basket only applies to one of the above manufacturers.
Don't get me wrong, they're good eggs in a good basket, but that's the reality of it.

It's going to take a while to recoup the $100Mn+ RHD development cost for the Acadia...

With two rate cuts by the RBA staring to slow the rate of house price falls, it will be interesting to see in the coming months whether Australian new car sales figures begin to improve.

1. Tesla being Tesla

2. Ford one time charges to turn around Europe, mostly cuttng staff and vehicles / production that doesn't work.

3. J/LR is only impressive in an up market, they don't make enough profit to cover funding for their product cycles

4. Without Carlos Gosn, Nissan are leaderless chooks.

Six months is a long time in the car industry but while buyers still have
good paying jobs and easy financing, the industry and dealers will be OK.

prydey - no matter what some here think re QC of the Toys, they keep on keeping on......
Barring the diesel dpf issues that most have as well in that/those segments, they all are cheaper build quality compared to the good ol days but myself and others I know have NO other problems.......
They are still generally good white goods day to day vehicles.
I haven't had a QC issue @ 170thou k's now on mine.
Thats life as a toy driver mostly.
I'd really like to when to upgrade to a BT50 for as you say Mazda are good as well (wife has a CX5) but BT50's are a poor Ranger so I wouldn't bother but good saving in the pocket.
I think I'll go V6 Rok, for I want that power for D4's and everything in that category sucks engine wise imo.

Mondeo at 51 is a very big % hit from the 70-80 it was doing. Restricted range is being felt in the sales.
