Hi all
I recently decided it was time to sell my FG F6. It was getting on in life and costing more than it was worth to keep with recuring issues. I owned the car for the majority of its 200k+ life and serviced the car myself as when i purchied it there where no logbooks included. Resale didnt realy botther me but i got a new book and tracked down atleast one of its earlyer services and got it stamped, i also got a major sevice done at a certified location. I didnt want to sell the car privately, so i traded it in on a SRT sedan at a chrysler deler So long story short i like to keep track of past cars and found my car up for sale, with no less than a full sevice history all stamped. I believe the deler is affiliated with the place i traded my car. I feel obligated to do somthing but dont know if i should? Im happly to name and shame on here, but im unsure what to do if anything?

If you can back up your claims then contact VACC, I'm sure they will investigate your complaint or point you in the right direction to make your complaint.

Due to high km car could of been auctioned off by a trade in dealer. They even put service book pics in the ad :-)

Wow, that's utterly amazing and bloody disgusting.
Seriously, they cannot be allowed to get away with this. I hope you push this as far as you can mate. I know I would. I'm furious sitting here reading this. If if was me in your position, I'd be in a bloody rage!! How often must they be doing this! Completely illegal and more importantly, ripping off completely innocent customers, who're handing over their hard earned cash. This REALLY ****s me....complete effing scum. And yes, I'd also be contacting someone like Today Tonight. This is exactly what they love to deal with.

Along with the suggestions above, you can also use the Report this Ad function on Carsales....not sure what they would do, maybe pull the ad.

the dealer i bought my car off did this to my books to my VZ LX8
when i questioned him he said the owner who lived on the NSW south coast drove to canberra to get the car serviced every time, yeah right he also said the car was and inland car but found out it lived by the beach for the whole 7 years before i bought it as i found the original owners details. you can see the stamp was used 4 times in a row going from dark to light and a different pen colour used for every signature

Fair trading is a start, as well as Ultratune head office. Problem is, any service proof is electronic these days. Nothing stopping them from generating a whole bunch of service entries with different dates.

I would be taking a screen shot of the ad or at least a photo showing the logbook and the rego number in the one shot for your own evidence. I have one if you need it. News travels quick in the car industry and its only a matter of time before the photo is taken down, and the log book is hidden until a prospective buyer asks for service documentation. You'll have to eventually sign a stat dec to start any investigation, and it could be a long drawn out process.
Good luck, and well done for contacting Consumer Affairs and getting things started. |

I sent an email message today.... just to see what they have to say.
I framed the message as a 'general inquiry', posing as a buyer interested in the car. Assuming this is the workshop, which incidentally does not appear to be part of the Ultra Tune franchise.... no familiar logo or branding? http://www.ultratuneblackburn.com.au/

It could be worth contacting the Motor Trades Association, in addition to Consumer Affairs?

^^ Looks like it was an Ultratune workshop once upon a time...
I also emailed Ultratune head office (same scenario as a 'potential buyer' of the car) to see what they might have to say.
