Hi everyone,
Just updating those that were keen to go on a mini cruise in Melbourne. Ive been scoping some roads out for a bit of fun. Ive come up with a sketch of a plan, let me know what you all think and add some ideas. Whats in the current idea; 1. Mt Dandenong Tourist Rd - Montrose 2. Skyhigh - Olinda (Pitstop. i.e coffee break to have a little yarn) 3. Lysterfield Rd - Lysterfield 4. Wellington Rd to Emerald 5. Emerald Monbulk Rd to Monbulk. 6. Olinda Monbulk Rd to Olinda 7. Mt Dandenond Tourist Rd to Montrose. Take a look at the maps and let me know what you think. If something needs to be added or subtracted let me know. Be aware this is not some crazed 300kmh time trial but a leasurely cruise at our own paces to enjoy the little Fiesta's cornering skills. Take care everyone and hope to hear from you soon!! Luke - aka JayDee |

Everyone is welcome regardless of the car, just getting some ideas out into the open so everyone can have some fun!
It will be good to get plenty of people along for the ride! Once the route is fixed we can look at dates. Whats the best time and day for everyone? Sat or Sun?? AM or PM? voice your opinion |

Oh, weekends from 4pm - 12am are bad for me, I've got work (up near the route). But chances are, I'll be quitting that job a few weeks from now, they're not flexible at all with shift times.

I'm off Tuesdays & Fridays, but if you guys set a date in advance, I can ask the boss if I can switch days.
I've driven to Montrose a couple of times in the Fez with my missus. I think my daughter was conceived at the Japanese mountain retreat house there. _2: It'll be a long drive for me, but I think I can swing it. I'll probably bring a video cam and a still cam too.

Sounds excellent!
Ok the Sunday 27th August, Start at 1:30/2pm. Or Sunday 3rd September, Start at 1:30/2pm. Lets discuss these times and dates before we make it a concrete plan. Il look at getting some maps sorted for everyone and it should be a good day. Danny - have you let the Foci lads know of this cruise? if not they are more than welcome! as are any other people that would like to come along! Let me know |

JD, Ive organised for this thread to be moved to the Eurofordclub Section and renamed as a euroford Melbourne Cruise.
This means it will be visible to everyone in Eurofordclub, and we can hopefully scrape in some sort of decent attendance. |

This one is in my backyard, I will be there with bells on (ring ring). Just let me know a date and time. Putting in the K&N filter this weekend so it will be good to see if there is much of a difference. Weekends are good for me.

Danny, i appreciate the personal invitation.
The Melbzetec is a disgusting dirty unloved pigsty at the moment ( 4months of kitchen renovation...no time for Zetec TLC) BUT, put me down as a starter, and I'm sure I can bring her back to her former glory!!

A few more details on the cruise:
Length: 82Kms Approx Time taken: 1h45m (as close to the speed limit as possible) Petrol useage: Cannot give a figure. Sky High entrance fee - $4 per vehicle 3 Petrol stations on route (1 x Shell, 1 x Ampol, 1 x BP - At start of Mt Dandenong Rd) 1 Speed/Red Light camera I spent the whole day today looking over the route and making maps for everyone! I will be posting an image of the map which i hand drew plus I will print off a few more than needed to allow for further interest and those that might turn up without adding an interest in this thread. More interest people!! - Danny you do a good job of rounding people up Luke. |

Sorry people I can't make it to the cruise, I'm going to Phillip Island to support Darren Best in his ST170. I'm going to organise another cruise shortly. So see you all there

Not a drama xurbanx - ive done these cruises on my own before.. i just havent had a moment to joint a forum and get people along for the ride.. the most fun one i do is an alpine challange.. through the ski fields in summer.. first we will see how this goes then il talk more about the alpine one.. its a two day cruise - i know people in the ski fields so i get cheap accomodation which il be letting people know should it happen.
