ive never been to rocky before, and im driving there in the morning to get a MRI on my wrist. as i will be staying the night, and its my first night off work in over a month, i want to live it up. what is there to do on a friday night in Rocky...?
ive been told i should be careful where i go cause i will get mugged by some aborigines(im not being racist, just what ive been told)... but im doubtful that its that bad....

Go down Quay Street along the river, go to the Criterion, Stadium, always kicking on, or walk a few blocks to a pub like the Ally's, ODowds, The Bruns...plenty of pubs up there

Never had dramas with the locals...they seem to stick to the parks mostly

What everyone has said is correct. There are a lot of Murries, but the give little dramas in town. Walk drunk through a poorly lit park however....
Pleenty of good pubs with live music and decent Meals, before heading to the clubs. No Noody Bar, as mentioned! Not a bad party town!

My missus is from Rocky, it's my 2nd home now. I reckon if you get sick of 1 pub walk to the next corner, there's another one...lol

It does get pretty bad, I haven't had any trouble with unfriendlies for a long time but everyone that comes to town seems to run into them somehow.

And yeah, plenty of idiots in bogan cars that want to race everybody. That's why I gave up on the 'lap' scene years ago.. It's pathetic most of the time.

I went there once and probably never again!! didn’t like the place sorry but Yepoon and Emu bay were nice. I will say one thing though they can cook a Killer stake in rocky ;) Bumped into the Brisbane Broncos when I was there at the stake house can not remember the name of the place or where I was staying ?? The Hotel was the big white one next to the bait and tackle shop LOL Chopper and Jacko were staying at the same hotel as they had a show on that night.

The steakhouse you are thinking of is the Cambridge Hotel. They have served me the best steak I have ever eaten there and I am a big steak eater. One to rival the Cambridge is the C ock & Bull in Cairns. They have the second best steaks in Qld and massive sides.

The Kalka pub on Lakes Creek rd has a good steak too, good feed overall. One of the best pub meals I've had anywhere

Not anymore perhaps? I went there the other week because it used to be pretty sweet, but all they were offering were basics? I think they still had a steak for twenty something bucks but going off the rest of the menu it didn't sound promising.

They've gone from having that awesome menu to having parmi and salad, snitzel and salad etc.
