If you like fast production cars, also check out the Bugatti Veyron 16.4!
"The engine has 16 cylinders, eight camshafts, four turbochargers, 64 valves and produces 1001 horsepower. It will power the world's fastest production car to a top speed of 406kmh" (~250MPH) The Veyron is also the most expensive production car at $2,000,000 USD. They say it'll do 0 - 300kph in under 14 seconds!

Veyron has been talked about for ages. I'm beginning to wonder if they will ever actually hit 400km/h in that thing. Until they do, Porsche Dauer 962 LeMans remains factory car king.

That looks pretty bloody low-key. Doesn't even say how fast the thing went.

406km/h was their goal from day one of Veyron's announce. As far as I know, they have never hit 406km/h.

and a gob-smacking 1026Nm from the E V12 Biturbo's seriously-worked twin-turbo V12 that normally powers current Mercedes 600 models. That earth-turning peak torque is available from just 1750rpm.
Engine modifications include a solid-billet, longer-stroke crankshaft, precision-balanced conrods and bigger pistons - increasing capacity from 5.5- to 6.3 litres. Other mods included camshafts, re-machined cylinder heads, stainless performance exhaust and re-programmed engine management.

I recall the Veyron hitting their 400km/h+ target too. I remember the biggest issue was having tyres that were "safe" at that speed but also were "plush" at regular road speed.

Davway, I believe they were refering to this car....
The pic you showed was just an example of how classy mercs look without the need for kits etc.......

Quite a few CLS's in the CBD now, and thank f@rk that all the ones I've seen are V8's. Sadly no CLS55 as yet though. Definitely a sweet looker and make one hell of a noise!

Meh ... Jun Auto.
Z31 Twin Turbo 300ZX = 416km/h record still stands from 1991 ... now that's an effort. JZA80 TT Supra made 408km/h from memory last year. From Jun as well.
