my friend has an xr6 auto ecu out of a ute s/2 au , will this work in a forte s/3 , with 3.45 gears and auto , said i can have it ,freebie !!

Firstly i believe the XR6 will have VCT motor and the forte won't meaning the tuning will be completely different and secondly between series II and series III there are many differences between ecu's the main one being that the processor speed is different and therefore they can't just be swapped as it simply won't work. Then on top of that the ecu will need to be programmed to the car by someone with the same tools as ford uses and not too many places have this ability.
