Yeah, restore her to her former glory, put on 2V head, 3:2 extractors, recondition the block and carby and 2V head if needed. Pretty much a full restoration. I will keep you posted on my gradual changes.

Thanks very much darling lol

Welcome to the forums Scott, 2v heads are very hard to come by, but they are out there, just like original standard XB steering wheels!.

Glad to see another XB owner who wants to keep the 250 going strong! (and find out the joys of hidden rust )

Was she originally copper bronze? Just looking at the underbonnet shot....

It looks like apollo blue. It reminds me of my car when I first bought it same color, interior, fairmont. Heres a pic of my car just two doors less, maybe it can give you some encouragement.

Yep, here are the pics of the rust.

Near Right Wheel.

Front Left Guard.

And some surface rust on roof and on the boot. Sorry, no pics of this.

Check in your boot, around your taillights and up under the rear window and down the each side of the boot top to bottom, those 2 areas caught me out being a novice XB owner!
Good luck with it all

You are correct it is Apollo Blue with Chamois Interior, original. Not bad for 33 nearly 34 years of wear and tear. I love that coupe! Don't go much for the stripe though. Still she's a nice peice of machinery.

close up photos of rust seem to be the common factor in just about every XA,B,C thread of this forum.

nothing, but theres nothing wrong with a pre crossflow either. he might want to keep it original
why pull out a perfect original engine just to slap in a crossflow?

Good call Wayne. I would prefer a original 250 than a X-Flow.
