Default Why are V8's so slow?

I thought GT's were quick. my lil turbo 6 beat a GT-P off the mark. and the extra power off the 8 didn't even gain on me. Maybe he couldn't drive but You'd think V8's would beat a 6.

If only the world was so simple

I suspect you're only after someone to bight with a post like that but try considering the myriad of other variable (including the other driver and his/her intent) that come into which car might be quick off the mark.

How many cylinders the engine has is rather irrelevant

Because these days V8s are driven by 'old' blokes who have nothing to prove ...... "Been there, done that before" , while P platers still had training wheels on their tricycles.
What is point of 0-100kmh times when the 0- whatever is in stop/start traffic to the next red light 100metres away.
It's the 80-130kmh overtaking times on the highway that is more relevant.

While the basic Ford Six was code named Barra, the Turbo version clearly deserved its very own moniker – again enter Gordon Barfield.
We asked him if the engine had actually been called “Seagull” and how that came about.
“Actually it was just call “Gull”, because I named it that. Because we knew it was going to poo on everything”.

If your car is a r33 gtr and its most likely not stock which most are not stock im not surprised....
Why are you on a ford forum taking the **** out of a gt if you don't own a ford,do you even own a ford?
I chopped a few gtrs at the drags in my old stock g6et,wonder why they were so slow?

Because he wasn't racing

I love how many people pull up next to me in a little buzz box and then take off like I am racing, funny thing is they probably go home telling their mates how they just beat a V8.

I had a mate years ago with a buzz box and he always used to tell me how fast his car was, I really thought he was joking till the discussion got more heated when I had a laugh about it.

Long story short we ended up at a track day having a race, needless to say he was not happy with the outcome, left him like he was parked on the side of the road

An attractive woman doesn't need a high-paying job... and a V8 doesnt need to be quick.

That's just how it is.

20K probably get you the wheels and body kit.

You need a VERY fat wallet to replicate this car

20k on Simmons wheels and FGX tail lights, spoiler and front end mods? Yeah righto....

I’d rather spend 10k on mine. Cause with that money. 10 secs is achievable.

Dose + flutter is winning.

It’s a proven fact that 8 cylinders in a V configuration rumbles at just the right frequency to cause women’s panties to suddenly drop.

Turbo dosing is at the frequency which makes flat brimmed pimple face ricers get hard.
