Bartons Holden Capalaba have 100 to sell at those prices !! all have less than 7k/kms on the clock. Resale value on the Commodores is really bad. That's $15k off rrp. But if you want a cheap car, a bargain.

@ the end of the day,who cares about resale(or depreciation @ this price.) If you are keeping the vehicle for any length of time, that should not even come in to it.I never look OR care about it.Cars are not meant to appreciate. If you want to make money,go & buy realestate.

These cars are second hand btw!
And yes for what they are they are super cheap. Good cars with plenty of power and nice fuel economy. I wish i had bought one instead of the Mondeo as I find the diesel a bit slow at times.

Now that Opel is owned by PSA, who is making the Commode?
Are they still buying them from Opel, or will they be made in Korea?

I'd say Commodore is done after this generation. We'll likely see a "ZC" facelift then that will be it... (lack of sales aren't helping of course)
GM has canned the Buick LaCrosse (except in China) and the Chevy Malibu will reportedly not be replaced in 2024. These would have been the 2 most likely cars to take over. |

Sound like ex rentals. Great cars, 9 speed auto 2.0 turbo hammers and gets great economy - makes the diesel version redundant.

So would this be a fleet deal gone bad or something ?
Seems odd for 100 to come up with less than 7000km on them. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

The NZ ZB liftbacks have been retained and moved into other policing roles where they were not expected to take passengers in the rear seats, these have been replaced with ZB Wagons which has in effect increased (not decreased) their fleet of ZB's by about 370……

For the money they are great cars (not rrp) I test drove a vrx today and to be honest, I was gobsmacked how good of a car they are. Heaps of demo Holden management vrx's out there for around 42k. It's a lot of car for the money and am seriously thinking of getting one.
It's a car you have to actually drive before forming an opinion of it.

Most of the people that dislike them seem to do so on principle because we stopped making cars here.
I can relate to that. I've owned an AU XR8 200 and a VE SS, and if I could find one with less than 20,000 kms for around $20k so I had some money left over to compensate for lack of warranty I'd buy it. But the other way of looking at it is that if you want a near new car with around 190 KW and a decent warranty for around $27k then what else is there? So a lot of people probably don't buy them because its their dream car, but just because they are cheap for what they are, and at the end of the day not a bad thing, even if not a great thing. |

Have them as rentals, would never consider one as a private vehicle.

Wait, an adult can’t fit their head in the back seat of a family size wagon? No wonder they’re a failure

I have been looking at these with renewed interest, especially the RS-V.
They were a 2nd gen model, based on a tweaked Epscillon II platform, and built at Rüsselsheim. So I'd suspect quality would be decent. The RS versions featured what I'd consider to be all the mod-cons: Autonomous Emergency Braking, Alloy Wheels, Android Auto, Automatic Headlights, Automatic Wipers, Blind Spot Monitoring, Climate Control, Cruise Control, Electronic Stability Control, Forward Collision Warning, Lane Departure Warning, Parking Assistance, Parking Sensors, Power Mirrors, Power Windows, Proximity Keyless Entry, Rear Cross Traffic Warning, Reversing Camera, Traction Control. Additionally the 3.6 V6 comes in AWD, with the 9sp auto. This was the latest iteration of GM's V6, an improved version on that previously build locally for the Commodore. Fuel consumption isn't great, but is passable. The RS-V version adds heated Leather Seats, Sat-Nav, and a few other touches. And it came in only the 3.6 AWD for both the Hatch and The Sport Wagon (which looks ok to me.) Hate the idea of driving a Holden, but could always fit Opel badges.
