Sorry if this has been posted before.
Anyone see The New Inventors on ABC tonight? There was a bloke who has come up with a new LPG injection system (vapour injection, not liquid). Looks very good and simple. Just replace your injectors with LPG ones fed from a special regulator/converter. Factory ECU still thinks it's running on petrol and controls everything just the same. Sequential MPEFI on LPG. Looks like he did most of his development etc. on Falcons too! GTi Stealth is what it's called. Anyway look here - www.gas-injection.com Steve. |

And only about $3000 to install. I previously posted something about this in the LPG section, and was actually looking at investing in his company....but didn't.

it has lots of potential you can increase the comprssion from standard 9.5/1 to 13.5/1 on lpg however it is a slower burning fuel than petrol so cam work may be advised , but then again just increasing the compression would compensate.if they are getting better power out of standard engines imagine one that is built to suit lpg. like the EGAS engine from ford.

If it's Fuel injected, they will do it. Give Bill a call and have a chat - he's a really nice bloke, and will tell you if they have an installer/agent over there in the west.

I think the $3000 is well worth it .... especially if you are going to end up with more power than the etrol run version .... better economy and longer tank range. A cleaner running vehicle that will save me more money. I will make the cost back very quickly doing courier work ... that's for sure.

Huh? To give a stupid answer (well a short one anyway) the change is like (ie exactly the same as) going from carby petrol to EFI, only with LPG. Better control over the engine, so better efficiency.

I am eagerly awaiting this for my EGAS engine.
I want to go LPI from the current mixer setup. Apparently power is much better than the standard factory petrol motors. Also get better economy and cleaner emmisions as well ... with more power. I think the $3,000 is worth it ... wonder if it is cheaper to convert a current LPG carby setup to LPI?????

Its great to see another system which seems on face value to be beter than current crop. But the facts remain that the cost of $3000+ is hard to recoup except in high km cars. Not all gas is half the cost of petrol and it needs to be to mean significant savings.

Reply from Bill Campbell at GTi
Hi Simon, Thanks for your enquiry; unfortunately at the moment we do not have any retail product available. I have largely completed the research and beta testing, and am at the commercialisation stage. I am actively seeking investors to assist with the commercialisation of the product. Once I can organise the funding, we will have commercial product available in 12 - 18 months. You may not be able to invest personally, but you may know someone who can. If you have any contacts for investment, I would be pleased to receive the information. The EGAS engine is a bit of a problem because they don’t have the injector holes drilled in the manifold, or a fuel rail for the injectors and the wiring harness is not installed for the injectors. It would be an expensive exercise and you would probably only gain power because on the EGAS engine the mixer type gas system is controlled by the Ford computer, so the economy would probably not change all that much. Best Regards Bill Campbell Gas Injection Technologies Pty Ltd.
