Default Old SCT Tuner Ver. 1

Hi Guys,

Chris custom tuned by beast about 4 years ago when he was still next door, at this time it was the old XCAL 1 is it still possible to use this if only updating the tunes or do I have to go the XCAL 3?

If I have to get the XCAL 3 (Which makes sense and has bit more features anyway) can you transfer the tunes across or start all over again?

Cheers,

Need the Xcal 3. If he still has your tune on the computer, it might be able to be downloaded to x3...

^^^^^Spot on, we should still have your tunes on file, just a matter of purchasing an Xcal3 and uploading them.

Hello,

Sorry to drag an older thread of mine but thought be bit less clutter.

I have an issue with my motor, sounds like a piston is sitting down in the sump somewhere it's that bad. My question is this:

As per my original post I have a custom tune done by Chris from years back because I have Stage 2 Crow Cams, will there be any problems in replacing the motor obvisouly "carrying across" the cams and valve springs with the custom tune? Exact same engine, BA 182kw with 18,000kms.

I know every engine is different and I plan once that is done to get it back to your guys with my XCal 3 that I have brought to have the whole thing retuned and done.

Cheers,

Come past so we can hear the engine..

generally you would think it would be ok just to change engines over with the same performance parts put back on .. but i would be worried it somthing like injectors or fuel pump were the problem that caused it in the first place..

I would run it over a dyno just to check its all ok..

Thanks Theo. Sadly with you being 2 and half hours away makes it hard to "swing by" for you guys to have a listen. The motor also uses 4-5L of oil over a 5,000KM service period, blows black smoke something shocking as well, not just the noise.

The motor is 150,000KM old and is being replaced by a 18,000KM one from the guys at Frentree Gully so it's a win, plus adding some goodies at the same time making it worthwhile for a retune, just wanted to make sure be safe to at least drive for a few weeks and to you guys without making anything go boom.

Thanks!
