Oddly I have a crappy old Marshall the previous owner installed and it hasnt missed a beat in 3 1/2 yrs, unlike a lot of the other batteries Ive installed over time. He replaced it when the car was well inside warranty, good move me reckons.

We had issues with our Territory from the day we got it new with starting.

Eventually got tired of playing the soft shoe shuffle with Ford, bought a Century 67EF and havent looked back.

I'll be getting another Century when the current Motorcraft battery (which is comming up to 3 years as well) dies. That reminds me, I better get some distilled water in case the battery fluid is low, I haven't checked mine in a year!!!

800-something CCA Optima Yellow Top.
Had it in the AU and now in the BF.
Starts a factory EGAS as quick as my petrol Territory (even when parked outside in -5 deg C temps in the middle of winter.)

Handles the constant mutliple start-up/cranking of courier work on extreme heat days in Summer ... No voltage drop when running multiple accessories inc. stereo (and all driving lights in the middle of the night as well.

Cost a bit ... but quite a long time.

This is the one that came with my BA when I brought it ( because its ex cop car I presume they use the best ).

Arnt they about $400?

They are supposed to be the Fairlane of Batteries.

I now just use a Bosch - Does the job.

Cost me 380 from memory. Was going to get a odysee but they don't come in the configuration that fits our cars. Plus they are more expensive with even less cca's etc

mind you I got the battery 3 or more years ago and the price of lead went up since so they are more expensive now

So your battery might be sitting around for months and years, not properly charged. So I put the battery on one of those slow automatic chargers over the weekend every now and then. That would be like driving the car for many many hours.
If the car runs a lot of extra audio gear and isn't driven much at least a few times a year is a good idea. I drive an 80+km round trip each day to and from work with a fair amount of highway kays, so the batteries in my AUs seem to last a while.

Guys I had a Bosch Gold Series battery in the AU for 5.5 years. These are maintenance free and I never once opened it the check the electrolyte levels. In the end I changed it as it was starting to get slow to crank and didn't want to get caught out.

We've had about four of these batteries in our family with similar reliability.

Unfortunately not many places stock Bosch batteries these days, so I picked up a Supercharge batter from AutoOne. It's a Gold Series maintenance free Calcium Grid battery with 3 years warranty. This battery is 100% sealed. I'm extremely happy with it, my AU only gets driven once every few weeks and the power never dips between uses, recommend this one!

I just bought a Bosch S3. 530 CCA. $135. 2yr warranty. <shrug> I needed it today and it's what they had. From the box it looks like it's the cheaper one in the Bosch range. The Sprint Auto guy said it's maintenance free. I said so I have to prise the covers off to check the levels. He said no seriously it's fully sealed, don't mess with it. Hmm. I guess that's a good thing.

BTW, does anyone use the plastic battery box, or is that just the embuggerance it looks? The PO had given it to me and I looked at fitting it today, but couldn't see the point.
