Default How to install satnav - or maybe not

Came across these pictures of satnav fitted to an FG. I'll let the pictures speak for them selves.

$10 or so at JB-HiFi or Harvey Norman, hell even a Telstra shop would have saved all that trouble,

I'm just wondering what happens in a crash when the driver moves towards the direction of that bracket and the bracket gets pushed towards the driver... instant shank to the head/body?

What a moron?

Fixing a sharp edge to a surface of the dash that is padded for safety reasons, what a rocket scientist. I would not be surprised if that vehicle would fail a safety inspection.

It would be one of those time I would not lose any sleep over it, sounds harsh but true.

The idiot probably made a fuss that the car must have dual airbags when he bought the car and then he bolts a steel girder to the dash

That looks a bit dangerous to me. He should have used a much bigger bolt to hold the Satnav onto that bracket. It could fall of while he is driving.

Superb, with a few more bits of scrap metal you can customize your very own cup holder next to your sat nav, or maybe even a coin holder. Kill 3 birds with one stone with your very own skull stabbing metal rod sticking out your dash!

yeah, I wonder if this candidate for the 2010 dawin awards realised that the suction cap he bolted through was designed for afixing said satnav to the windshield...?

like stated before, its no great loss to humanity's genepool when this guy shanks himeself throught the brain....

This has got to be the best $2.50 conversion that I've seen.

Totally agree that this attempt should go straight to the epic fail thread, do not pass go and definately do not collect $200.
