Was just wondering what Capris are out there.
Dad has a got a collection of capris at home.. he loves them and as a 20 year old i love them as well.. he has 3 V6 capris. his first one was one he bought which was converted from a 1600 to a V6 with an auto box its in good condition.. he also has a all original matching numbers V6 auto which has had a lot of work done to the engine but the previous owner sat it out in the weather way to long and she has gone fairly rusty but it is planned to get a full ground up rebuild (at some stage).I must say it is one of the most insane car ive driven. His final one is a fully original V6 manual under 60,000 miles on it, came out of the factory with cream interior and is in immaculate condition. It has won most original car at all fords day in Adelaide before. He has had many descussions with others about it with most saying it not original but fortunately all the previous owner have kept most of the papers even the original advertisement for the car.. we also have another shell that im looking at doing a build up on and heaps and heaps of spare parts. sorry about the picture quality this is his first capri: this is his completely original GT V6 manual: Last edited by wrightyXR6; 21-03-2012 at 07:04 PM. |

planning on doing something a bit different we have V6 engine at home but has been sitting in bits for about 5 year.. but I've been looking into some escorts that have the SR20DET conversion. Then just custom interior and make it a nice daily driver. I'm thinking of trying it with the capri. has anyone seen a conversion like that in a capri before? |

Gorgeous cars....
You can also validate the trim code off the compliance plate. According to my Ford Australia parts manual, for years 69 thru 71, a trim code of W = White. I don't have '72 info. |

here is my 1983 Capri 2.8i 5 speed. Top speed is 130mph with 0-60mph in about 7.6 secs. This car will soon be for sale by the way |

i have 2 Capri's at the moment, one is an original 280, Build #6, the other is my project Capri, which is having the Complete BF Falcon running gear fitted to it, along with FG f6 engine and gearbox, with luck should move quite well
and the project one wing was just sitting there for the picture, have to get new wings made up to fit the wider wheel track. |

I sold it and it has now been restored, painted in its original colour, Miami Blue with black trim. It had a real interesting past. It was a UK "M" reg. Went to Rhodesia in 1978 and came to Australia in 1984. Someone painted it to look like John Player Special. Steve PS, love your Brooklands. |

It is a rather special car. One of the earliest Ghias. First month of production car number 303. I was going to build a track car out of it but when I found out what it was I just couldn't do it. Steve |

The Mk 2 has come up a treat. I was around at the new owners place last week and saw it in the flesh. Eric and Glen have done a tremendous job.....This is their 3rd Capri restoration (the other 2 being "twin" Jewel Green GT V6s)
Was the Red GT an auto and go over to Mr Roberts? |

The red car did go to Mr Roberts who had it painted for me and then I sold it. The car was a manual, Red with black trim. It is now in NSW. I had another red one that I sold as a project car. That was also a manual with black trim. Eric has done a good job with that MkII. I am so glad. That was the car that was a JPS replica when I bought it. Steve |
