Post Stock Fiesta wheels

hi guys

noob here, great forum and reading through has answered a lot of my questions about mods to this little beast.

:sm_headba

Just wanted to know... I hit a pretty deep pot hole (Sydney, where else!) that resulted in my factory alloys buckling enough to be annoying. Cut to the chase -

1. Anyone have stock 15" Zetec alloys they want to sell?
2. Anyone know how or where my alloys can be repaired?

Cheers all

Sounds great - will do my best to join in. Have planned to be working in Canberra on Friday... ironing out some issues pre-Xmas (just like everyone else).

With the baby seat I get from 0-100 in 4 sec fla.... hang on, I'm day dreaming again!

Mista!

I'm in Kellyville, so not too far away from Thornleigh. Be great if you can let us all know what it'll cost to get the wheels repaired.

I'm driving a 05 Zetec in Tonic. Mods so far include a baby seat : Wanted to keep it simple in the beginning but this forum has given me hope LOL

I'll get some pics up when I get a chance soon

i dont think it would be worth it to repair a Buckled Rims mate. my dad was quoted like 300 to get his rims re-balanced and all that jazz. and he only had a minor one. you may be better off going to ford and asking how much a replacement one is. you could always try ebay. and yer i know there isnt much. even trading post. you should be able to pick up a set for like 2-3 hundred

Hi Photn

thanks for the advice... sucks. The difficulty with wheels (what I've found so far anyways) is that Fiesta / Focus PCD is so unusual.

I'm happy to go steelies until I can find / afford smtg with decent street cred! Moving into a sales role soon with client visits so I'll need a little 'flash value' :

Not trying to hog this thread, but dropped off 2 rims this morning at Abarth Wheel Repair. Peeps seem ok but it is alittle exxy. 140 each, which includes balancing etc. One rim appraently was buckelled too so hes gonna fix that for me. So he better do a great job .

cool cool. $140 seems a bit much... easier to just replace the wheel in most cases, no?

The baby seat mod gives huge power gains, especially with members of the fairer sex. Girls are turned on by guys who nurture babies.

Okie dokie...

First up, thanks to Ivan for the deal on the Fiesta steelies. Tread is great, balance is still good and inflation was almost spot on.

I put the wheels on last night with my brother's help (he watched, I worked!). Car feels so much smoother; the way it should always be!

I will get a mate to check the alloys as it was suggested by the Matthews guys in Chatswood that the hub of one of the wheels was off. He suggested a possible 'bad wheel'.

Anyway I'll investigate and post results.

thanks everyone - all have been welcoming to the newbie and suggestions have been great and welcome.

Cheers

On another note to follow on from last night's swap around, I noticed a whole different dynamic to the car once the steelies were put in place.

The steering is a lot lighter, turn in is less sharp and car feels like it floats a little as compared to running the alloys. The tread is original spec Bridgestones, so that's not an issue.

Anyone (nerds / geeks / tyre guys) able to comment on the nitty gritty of vehicle / wheel dynamics?

Awesome!

Glad everything's good. Nice doing business with you.

As for the different dynamic on the car, I think the steel wheels yield more than the alloys?
