Victorian Police have busted Lewis Hamilton doing a fishtale leaving the circuit in his mercedes they have impounded the car for 24hrs and have charged him with improper use of a motorvehicle and being out of control.

I bet the policeman was straight on the phone bragging to his mates that he just impounded Lewis Hamiltons car.

What a great attitude being displayed.... So what if its Hamiltons car?
He got caught by the cops. Learn to deal with it....

I love it how he can drive a 700+ hp car, in a sub 1000kg chasis, yet ripping a skid in a road car is still appealing

Good move on the cops part. It will highlight how draconian the laws are there in VIC. I wonder how bad it would have been if Lewis was doing 3km/h over the speed limit. The cop probably doesn't like those laws himself and is doing his best to expose them to the review of the rest of the world.

It is unbelievable how when there is soimething like this happens to someone driving a Commodore or Falcon or any other car for that matter, everyone on here has ridiculed them and said they deserve what they got.
But because this involves an F1 driver you all think that it is OK and funny for him to do it. IMO it is about time that you all grew up and remembered that he has to abide by the laws of the road as all of us do (even if you don't agree with them). He got caught and has to suffer the consequences of his actions. I think he is in for a bigger surprise when he faces the FIA about it as they are pushing road safety world wide in a big way and he goes and does this. |

I say good on them. Does this moron think he's exempt from the road rules because he is a formula 1 driver? He deserves the same treatment as everyone else and that's exactly what he received, case closed.

Wonder how long it'll take Jeremy to rip Australia to shreds you mean, lol. He's a F1 world champ FFS, the charge of being "out of control" is ridiculous. Improper use yes but out of control? : All a lawyer would have to do is show the judge Hamiltons TG lap in the reasonably priced car in the wet to laugh the "out of control" charge out of court. The improper use and impoundment charge shows the over zealous stupidity of the law in this case but the "out of control" charge shows the over zealous stupidity of the cop IMO. Bushbasher

Ok fair enough, yes wrong thing to do, he broke the law and needs to cop it on the chin, after all can you imagine the uproar if he was let off....
I nearly wet my pants with the "out of control" bit tho.... Sorry Lewis but when Rome and all that, at least if you don't get a trophy you will have a bit of paper for your cabinet....
