It's great. Nothing for you to worry about though - wouldn't want the curtains fading because of "extra" sunlight, or the cows going off their milk.

I must say when I was over east I loved it, and when we had the trial, again I loved it. But now we don't have it I hate it. Trying to get everything done before 2pm because most shops I deal with close at 5pm. Or the 4am wake up call because a call centre in melbourne/sydney opens at 7am.

No need to fiddle with the hands on the clock .. if you want to get up earlier to see more of the sun just do that. Simple.

Dear Daylight Savings,

Please never infiltrate our great state.

Just because those southerners seem to have an inability to wake up an hour earlier if they need to do so, doesn't mean that we have.

I think that we should actually just move the whole thing forward permanently.

The middle of winter up here is quite ok and it going dark just after knock off time is not a problem.

Of course the southerners will whinge and moan that it is not suitable for their lat and lon but I care about that as much as they care about the effects of daylight saving up here.....

Or am I just being ignorant and selfish......

My kids asked me today why I'm home early - had to explain that I'm home normal time (6.30pm), just that the sun is still up. They did the reverse at the end of daylight savings too - asked me why I was home so late (cos it was dark, whereas the week before it had been lightish still). It's too hard to explain that we change the clocks etc - actually, that's easy to explain; it's the "Why?" that's hard to explain.

This thread is about daylight saving not personal views of states. Keep it on topic or warnings will start to appear.

Day light savings is stupid especially having it during summer which is when the daylight lasts longer anyway. If its so important to have it why not do it in winter when it could serve a purpose? Also why do people say its great, more time in the shed after work. Have people forgotten the fact we have electricity. Alot of people up here ignore it because they dont see the point. Queensland dont have daylight savings and yet people manage fine, so why must these southern states insist on having it?

I am located in NSW. All I am saying is if people in QLD survive with out day light savings, why cant the southen states? I dont see any reason to day light savings at all and people up my way feel the same especially the farmers which is why they dont even bother
