On my LS Ghia I have this knocking noise from the front and it was diagnosed as the strut bearings.....do I have to remove the strut,,,spring compressors etc. to replace them or can I just undo the three nuts on the top of the strut and beauty.........

I've replaced the springs and shocks on my car, myself.
The spring must be compressed, to get the bearing out. |

you will need to buy spring compressors to do that job It may be cheaper to pay a mechanic unless you can borrow a set.
