Default Stolen GT's at Manheim Fowles

Anyone know the real story to this. Apparently both stolen from Broadmeadows and were brand new, straight off the production line. I'd assume the green one was used as a battering ram to clear a way for the black one to get out the gate. Should buff out.

Looks like severe rear suspension and mounting/chassis damage. See LH rear photo.

Someone will probably buy both to make one, green one is repairable, black one provides the bits.

Seems like a pointless exercise. Use 1 to smash the gate, steal the black 1 & smash it too. The thieves get the annual dumbass award I think!

What a shame for that to happen to these fine cars. (Shakes head.) Tell you what though, I didn't realise how well the green colour suits a GT-P.

Anyone willing to have a guess at what they'll sell for? I'll have a stab and say around $25,000. Am I being wildly low?

If I remember correctly the flood damaged one in QLD went for low to mid $20k, so I would say these would go for quite a bit more as you can actually use bits of them as opposed to the one up north. The drive train would be brand new and well run in!

These may be the ones from a couple of months ago when two blokes walked in the front holding yard at FPV (before it moved or was in process of going across the road to the plant) wearing overalls and drove them straight out of the park!! The keys are/were in them and they were chased and one crashed. They must have had some inside info that the keys were kept in completed cars....
There was a link to a Herald sun article on this in a thread in 'The Pub' but the link is dead...
What a waste.

No it's not them as both have Geelong Engine Plant (GEP) built engines in them. Nos 55 and 90.

There was two green ones stolen from the holding yard. One used to put a hole the fence. The other with light damage.

The black one was stolen from a transport yard. The rear tyre were worn to the steel belts in clearly from burnouts. Rear suspension was trashed from hitting something.

Stat write offs. Mmm get the black one and tub it

The black one has 690ks so it is not from FPV.

The green one has 19ks so this was brand new.

It wouldn't have taken too long to rack up that 690k with the rear wheels pulling 250 kph with a smoke cloud behind them

I wouldn't mind the green one. Looks like its only panel work....

Might have a go at it, i have a pretty good friend that runs a panel shop. The dearest part is the front bar, but i know there's a few of them around the place too.

Has anyone inspected them?

They were both new. The black one was missing for a few days before it was found smashed.

The green one is repairable, but couldn't be sold as a new vehicle.

Ok, I'll have the black one. My late Nana warned me about never having a green car, as they bring bad luck. So I've never owned a green car !!

Green cars, bad luck. Phffft that's nonsense.

I've had two, one burst into flames the other got written off by a lady who sped through a stop sign.

Wait!

Nan for PM. Wise lady.

I was under the impression that they had to be registered to be entered into the written off database.

I've done 4 repairable write offs so far with VIV's etc...not that difficult really.

These are pre registration cars, so may not need a VIV? (the black one was registered maybe?)

The green one has roof damage as well as nearly every panel needing work.
Someone will pay way too much for it, they always do at those auctions.
