Just wondering if anyone has any recommendations as to a good panel beater, preferably in Sydney's south
Daughter has backed the '97 Probe along a concrete pillar in a supermarket car park, clobbering the back edge of the passenger door and along below the B pillar. Want the job done right, not necessarily cheap & quick. Interestingly the only other time the car has been damaged was at the exact same point; I'll have then check for magnets!

Well this is a tough one to write. We've had the car taken away & been paid out on the insurance. The upside is there is a really well loved Probe coming up in a Pickles auction with minimal damage that would be fantastic for parts.
The downside is the family is gutted.

The car is written off & can't be re-registered in NSW.

repairable write offs no longer exist.
stat write offs only. you can however, aply for a stat write off exemption, but the probe will not qualify, it needs to be a "special" vehicle, IE, over 6 years old with a value in excess of 50k, or a limited production vehicle IE T-series falcons. your run of the mill, neat, but none the less run of the moll Probe will not meet the requirements, I am currently driving a Probe while me TE50 is being examiined to comply with the regulations to be repaired and reregistered under these new reg's. I am unsure of other states, but this is how we are now playing the game in NSW. Its main objective is kill off the rebirth industry and stop the repairable write off black markets. both are/were costing the insurance companies and RTA lots of $$. Big inconvenience for alot of people, |
