Hey whooligan, You can use the volvo disks can't you? You just macro the stud holes? I need to something to my escort. My rear disks and calipers are out of an R31 skyline and work better that the front stock brakes. when i lock the brakes up the rears lock first I am surprised the engineer passed the car as he warned of this problem :

Ummmm.....Probably should have done the fronts first. Best vented disc option is BMW, but I've heard you can use Nissan Navara as well. If you want/are running rear disc, you should either get a brake proportioning valve or fit a brake bias pedal box and ditch the standard booster.
The Volvo conversion on spannerfodder is tried and tested and legal for Group Nc historic racing. I'm going to get around to converting my cars....one day. Maybe after I get back from the UK and I have some money again. |

one of the mechanics i work with has a 1600 gemini with vn front brakes and disks and vn rear calipers and vt rear disks, the only thing he had to do was grind down the front calipers a bit cuz they rubbed against his calibra rims....

Yeah i had the same problem sterling. My rears calipers rubbed on the 13" rims gggrrr wasnt happy. The dude who done conversion told me the rims should fit..
And whooligan, One of my past workmates said he used volvo disks on his MK2. He said just unbolt the original disk and macro the volvo disk holes and fit the volvo disk over the escort hub.. Just hard to remember he told me this years ago..Mmmm what beer does to my memory and a newborn baby that hates sleeping...:baby bott

That looks like a good setup.. it will probibly sell i reckon.. I would prefer to look into it more before i spend that sort of money. How many volvos do you see laying around dead in peoples yards these days..

Whats the car used for?
Does it require the upgrade? I'd suggest a spacer kit and slotted/vented rotors with some decent pads. Even just a some decent pads to start with will probably impress you compared with a std setup.
