Hi - my first Internet forum enquiry ever. Have a 1999 AU1 manual, had from new, done 188K, happy with car except firewall has ripped and clutch cable now jury rigged, and clutch mounting on pedal box progressively bending out of alignment, so clutch now extra heavy.. Have seen other entries here dealing with patching up firewall and pedal box, but as I don't have much of a garage or any ability, I'm hoping to locate a business in Melbourne (Northern Suburbs) which know how to do this kind of work. Ford advises that new pedal box for AU1 no longer available, so job would be to weld the fix. Other posts indicate that dash removal not necessary on this model for this fix. Can anyone advise me of a business which is familiar with this work?
