"In a letter to Mr Wood, Mr Zanlunghi said it had been insights from the advocate, coupled with in-depth market research including current customers which has lead to the launch of the Jeep There & Back Guarantee last Friday.
This guarantee includes five-year warranty, five-year capped price servicing and lifetime roadside assistance for customers when serviced at a Jeep dealer. "I've said it to the media and I'll reiterate that this is absolutely not a promotional offer or a short term campaign," Mr Zanlunghi wrote. "The Jeep There & Back Guarantee will form a fundamental component of our Jeep strategy going forward and its importance has been instilled in each member of our organisation and right through our dealer network. Jeep Australia backs its customers." https://www.themorningbulletin.com.a...hange/3148746/

They had no choice, their brand is mud and they needed to instill confidence in the buying public.

Too little too late?
What good is a warranty knowing you're going to be using it over and over and over again..... the ownership experience will still be a PITA regardless. |

With this announcement, they are stuffing about with the capped price servicing.
http://www.caradvice.com.au/525974/j...ntee-launched/ This report for instance mentions 12month/20,000K servicing intervals for the Diesel GC, their online pricing guide diesel at 6month/12,000 and a major service At 24 month/48K for $695 (24month/40K major was $954) last week but this week, it's now 24month/40K and $1,195, minors are now $565, where $431, damn steep hikes, maybe it pays for that extended warranty! |

2011 - 2016 LC200 80,000km. No warranty issues - just a service every 10,000km 2016 LC2000 20,000km Stitch came loose on the rear seat leather trim. Fixed at first service. Big difference to the Jeep warranty list in the post above.

Jeep has to find a way to become the #1 or #2 best seller in every category they compete in.
They are a car make that specialises in a particular area of the market, and if they can't achieve this then what is the point of being a specialist manufacturer.

Good step in the right direction for those that have issues.
My Jeep experience has been great, both car and service. On my second GC and have deposit down for a third.

In a lot of publicised cases they didn't honour their 3yr warranty so what difference will it make whether it is 5, 10 or 20yrs!

Grand Cherokee is high on the 'Want' list.
But it's not high on the 'buy' list. 5 year warranty is a start to trusting them more. But I would sell it after owning for 4 years and 11 months |

Sure, they have their issues, but which manufacturer doesn't, we're on a Ford forum and Ford certainly has their share of issues. Thing is, when you actually speak to Jeep owners they give responses like this: Quote:
And when you rely on hearsay such as people only with a "friend with a Jeep"... or 5 friends, you get responses like this: Personally, I own a Jeep with 185k km on it and its been very reliable. I know other Jeep owners with only good things to say. |

We love our GC Laredo Diesel, apart from the FG XR6T its my favorite of everything ive owned... All manufacturers make Lemons sometimes.. Toyoto with its Prado and LC issues, Ford with the Focus Transmissions, VW with Dieselgate.. Its how the manufacturer deals with them that makes all the difference... In that department, I think Jeep could have done better.. Having a few idiots at CEO's didn't help its cause.. These new measures are a step in the right direction for Jeep from the new CEO.... At least they are trying.. Better late than never...

Check out vfacts it tells the whole story. jeep sales are going south in a big way for whatever reason. They have to do some sort of sale incentives or they will be non existent in a few years . Maybe they are paying the price for how they treat their customers its no secret . All cars have problems its how the problems are addressed buy the dealers and the parent company that will determine repeat business.

Yes every manufacturer has lemons, but in Jeeps case they have way more than anybody else, and the way they dealt with it in the past was a disgrace. |

Ok well my over the road neighbour has had nothing but troubles with his wife's jeep compass, so much so he got rid of it. He had it from new & after 2 yrs he had enough of random things breaking & being very expensive to fix.
Our friends finally after 3 yrs got rid of their dodge 4wd 7 seater, just spent to long in the shop. Upgraded to a kia carnival even though offered a good deal on a voyager. Mate had one of those retro looking things in the 2000's traded a Honda crv in for it. Within 2yrs they brought another Honda. I am yet to meet anyone with a good word about them. Each to their own but I won't ever own one |

I've had fords most of my life and certainly had my share of problems with them. Never shared the issues too much as people would carry on about how **** fords were and I couldn't be bothered hearing it. Have a 2015 GC now for the last 2 years. Trouble free. Love it and will buy another one no problems. Older model Jeeps seem to be the main concern. Newer ones not so much. Every time someone mentions anything regarding Jeep on this site watch out for the flaming lol. But in actual fact the Ford brand are certainly no better. |

Good on Jeep introducing 5 Year warranty & 5 Year Capped Price servicing, I wonder when Ford will apply this to all their vehicles? Well overdue!

The Chrysler/Jeep/Dodge dealer out my way is in the throes of closing down, they only have 4 cars available last I saw.
Saying much as a reflection of the brand?
