Hello everyone, I am currently refurbishing my recently purchased Mk II, and am wondering if anyone can help with obtaining these 2 parts for me for my 1978 4 door. The front bumper bar rubber strip (with the metal insert) for a Chrome bumper, and also a pair of rubber Overriders. Mine have the part number 75 AB 17996 DA with 4-7 stamped below that number. Car is currently at the spray painters being restored to the original John Goss paint job of Emerald Green top and Polar White bottom. Thanks, Kevin.

By the bumper insert do you mean these ones?
https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/23480122...3ABFBMjo-dkbJj Theres a few of the side ones available at a quick glance, I'm sure the centre strip would be out there too with a bit more digging. This could be an option, pricey but you may be able to re-coup a few buck selling the rest of the bumper locally. Although if you see the prices of the over riders alone its not actually that bad. https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/27546306...Bk9SR_z1jNaxYw With the over riders theres a couple of types to look out for, the Ghia style ones you're after are probably the easiest to find, they'll have the cut out for the bumper trim like this one. These are the Rallye pack style without the cut out. The other difference is the edges, on Ghia and Rallye pack they either have a scalloped edge like the first one or an angled edge like the second and varied between the two over the years. I'd be trying Yesterford or any other small Ford specialists you can find locally and gumtree. Classic Ford Forum would be worth a try too as with the UK sites like Turbosports and Oldskoolford. Good luck with it, sounds like it'll be a nice car when you're done.

Hi there, thank you very much for your help with this. I have found your reply to be most helpful and I have something to follow up on now. As for the Overriders, you are correct in thinking that mine are the Ghia type - certainly look the same to me ( hard to tell as mine have been flattened due to a collision ! ). Those end strips are probably all I need on the Bumper too, so thanks for that info. Been advised by the spray painter that the car is coming along nicely, so can hardly wait to pick it up and start re-assembling.

No worries
I'll keep an eye out for over riders in my neck of the woods and let you know if any turn up. Happy to pop them in the post if need be.

Thank you, would appreciate that. I will try Mike at Yesterford on Monday. Hope to post a couple of photos when I get the car back too. Will be easy to spot as it has the Emerald Green Metallic upper and Polar White lower with the Orange/Red striping.

Hi, does anyone have a Boot Lock and key to suit the Mk II Escort ? I suspect that a TC Cortina or TD would also fit, but prefer to stick with an Escort as first option. If you have one for sale please advise cost etc. Thanks, Kev
