Default Porsche driver caught doing 300km/h

Just heard on the news, a bloke driving a silver Porsche just got caught doing over 300 km/h south of Perth.

Default Porsche clocked at 300

Just saw on the news here in Perth that Police alledgedly clocked a Porsche at 300 on the Old Coast Rd. Now this road is a piece of you know what, it's narrow and bumpy and has numerous fatals on it. It's not even a dual carriageway.
They gave chase and set up a road block. He tried to do a U turn at the road block and stalled it.
Police arrested a 30 year old man from Margaret River and seized his car for 7 days.
300 what a , I hope he goes to jail.

This can't be right.

From all my media knowledge only under 21's in V8 XR8/SS's and sportsbikes can do 300kmh.

There must be a mistake somewhere.

Plenty of people can get up to that speed. Whether they get caught or not is another thing.

300km/h is the new 200km/h and not hard at all to achieve with the performance of today's cars.

Really do tell, because I drive a relative fast car and have driven fast cars and in places where you can push the speedo along a fair way (Autobahn) and I must be a real girl because I find that past 250km/h things move along quite rapid.

Me too. Above 250km/h things get a little blurry. However it really depends on the road quality and the car. I've heard people say that doing 400+km/h in a Veyron doesnt feel like the car is going to.... lift.

That's quite a statement, care to elaborate ?

Bikes are the only affordable way to see 300kph IMO.

Any clear motorways are good for 300km/h if you have capable cars.

Rubbish. The bloke in question is an ex-member here, now living up your way. While at a local show'n'shine which included a police car or two on exhibit, he conversed with the friendly officer who did him up a real (but not real) ticket showing 260 odd in a 60 zone. He then used to stick it on his windscreen at various show'n'shines, including the FPV open day a few years ago.

But I guess now it has become an urban legend, so your version is probably the truth.

I am sure the magistrate will let them off as ' the car was designed to do it ' or some such thing.

300 is a pretty serious effort.

Back to reality, It prob was doing in excess of 200km/h but 300 ??? First there aren't that many cars that will get to 300 and on such a road??? Plus how did the cops verify? Got to love the media.

There's not a lot of details as of yet, they mentioned it right at the start of the news as he only just got caught.

I'm also a bit skeptical on the speed he was doing. It's damn near suicidal doing that speed on that stretch of road.
