Default About to enter the darkside....

Hi all,

A deal has been done on a new (older) Ford which I will be picking up next week. This new car will be the daily driver and I can't wait to get it. Traded in the Ford Focus for it as small cars really isn't for me (or my family)

I'll post the pics of the new car when I get it....it will look good! :

How is an AU the dark side? Your on the dark side. I beleive your crossing to the bright and shiny side.

I meant 'dark side' in that Ford is blue (which is a darker color than the Red for Holden). Didn't mean anything negative about it.

Thanks, it sure is getting alot of attention on the road. Drives great and is almost as much fun as the 'other' car. The looks from people on the road is priceless!

Just need to get a bigger exhaust.....

You just need the matching T-Series side skirts to complete the job! Looks good.

I don’t mind the negativity against the SS, after all I had the same feelings towards the AU. But now I love the car and the color/bodykit/wheels make a good package look fantastic. The looks I get from people on the road is priceless and sure looks unique compared to all the done up Commodores.

Definitly a unique Falcon SR. Nice purchase. One thing, you have to put the Ford badge on the front mate ;-).

nice, except 2 things, you need to get dual tips there on your exhaust, and the TS50 side skirts!
(already been said)
other than that, i love it, i bet you do too!!!

cheers

Already looking at getting a sports exhaust with dual tips, but the side skirts look good so I think I'll leave it the way it is. It looks unique this way, being a combo of 2 bodykit styles with the shadow chrome wheels. I'm enjoying this car more than I though I would....

Very nice car... mmmm ROH RT's
As the others have said, I'd go some twin tips to fill it out a bit.

2 questions for you....

1) did you think you would actually get this excited over the "ugly" AU?
2) did you get a surprise at just how agile and well mannered the handling is over your Vx?

Great looking car.. Very nice. Now lets see how long before the VX is parked away and the AU mod bug bites REALLY hard. :

1. No I didn't, but I have now!!
2. Yes it does handle very well for a big family car (bigger than the VX??)

I'm one of those who would rather buy Aussie made cars whether they are Holden or Ford. To me, I've got the best of both worlds, a fast Holden and a great looking Ford!

Me too, but both mine are Fords. Any chance of getting a pic of the SS - alongside the AU, of course.

I would keep the skirts as well - it certainly looks different, but I agree that the front needs a Ford badge in the mesh. They're not that hard to put on, and you should be able to get a new one from Ford for about $10. It just looks naked without it. Also, AWC sell the laser cut mesh that looks even better in the front grille than the cheap aluminium mesh.
