Default Gear knob

Hey guys.

Just curious if any1 has fitted a BA momo manual gear knob onto a AU stick???

Looking at doing this just wondering if they fit staright on...
Anyway...
If any1 has done this or know if it can fit straight on with some pics possible it be great.

Falkeen had done this to his XR8 ute. It should be a straight screw off/screw on job.

yeah they fit... 10mm thread..

but you might need to grind down the stick, as the BA knob is quite long... so have angle grinder ready, or better yet a metal lathe... ;)

Or you cant unclip the boot, take off the shift lever, cut 4" out of the fat section of the shaft and then weld it back together. Grind it off smooth and then refit, works well and cuts the height down heaps.
Whereas rethreading the shaft can only shorten the shifter approx 1".

heheh i did mine with a grinder..... thank god its covered up by the boot! its aint pretty, but works... try grinding 10cm?? off a 20mm bar into 10mm and see how round you end up with!... actually its not that bad, although I will not be able to re-thread it again... doh!

I already have a shorter "BPT" stick/leaver which sits at a nice height.

So the manual BA momo gear knob should fit easy as screwing it on with no dramas.
