Default Off to Europe for a month!!!

Yep, this Sunday the 3rd of August the Mrs and I are off to Europe for about a month and we are excited beyond belief. We're flying in and out of Paris and going around a few countries by Train, plus we have a nights lay over on the way there in Seoul.

So from landing in Paris we spend one night at the Hilton at the airport (I'm still getting good value out of saying "I'm staying in Paris Hilton" ) then heading by train to Amsterdam for a few days. We are then off to Berlin for 2 nights, followed by 5 nights in Prague. After that we are off to Lucerne for a few days on an overnight train then over to London for another 5 nights. Finally we will be staying in Paris for our last 4 nights before flying out on a 24 hour trip home.

I'm taking the laptop with me and most of our accommodation has free internet access so I will be in some contact here and will occasionally make some updates for anyone that is interested. Naturally any exotic cars sighted will be extensively photographed and photos will be uploaded into this thread.

I've also been able to find some safe accommodation for my XR8, it will be living in a shed at my old mans.

Gee, sounds like one hell of a trip there Russ. Will you have any money to spend on the Falcon once you get back?

No, no I won't. In fact with the amount that I am spending on this holiday (which I am mainly doing for the mrs) I could have quite easily had a Dart block with new internals, alloy heads and possibly a blower and a T56.

Make sure you go to Harrods when you are in London, you will find many exotics parked nearby.
Gay as it sounds make sure you do the open bus tour through London (hop on hop off buses - you can jump on and off these as often as u like during the day). These bus tours are fantastic.
And if you can the boat cruise from Greenwich / Cutty Sark all along the Thames getting off at Embankment.

Enjoy your trip!

Well I am in Europe. On a train from Paris to Amsterdam to be precise, I'm in 1st class so I get free wi-fi access in my seat for the entire trip and there is also a power source too so I am set.

The flight from Melbourne to Seoul was a bit tedious as we didn't have personal screens in the back of the seats but the food, dare I say it, was pretty good. I also had a couple of glasses of a nice red (Rosemount Merlot) served too. Not bad for cattle class.

Had a night in Seoul free of charge at the Seoul Royal Hotel, an hour by bus from the airport - an interesting trip that was. It is really Hyundai hell there. I think I saw 4 cars that weren't south korean in the whole time, even the bus was a Daewoo!

The flight from Seoul to Paris was a lot better on board a 747 (Mel-Seoul was an Airbus) as we had personal screens in the back of the seats and had a huge selection of movies to watch, really recent good ones like Iron Man etc. Again good food and nice wine - Anyone care to knock Korean Air now? (Some of the hosties weren't bad to look at either lol)

So we spent last night at the Hilton at Charles de Gaulle airport. Went to the first room and they came up 5 minutes later telling us that the room wasn't ready so we had to move. Got to the second room and it had twin beds (not good ) and a rattling light fitting from the air con. To be fair they did tell us that we were one of the first to use that floor since the refurb. I complained (as I do) and they upgraded us to an Executive room. Now that was nice, and worth 824 euro a night, not bad considering we only paid 109 euro for it!

So now I am on a Thalys train from Paris to Amsterdam in 1st class, just been given some snacks and drinks and I'm thinking about heading to the bar one car up, unless I can get them to bring it to me. Although I should wait a little longer, it is only 1045 in the morning right now. I might post some pics soon.
