It’s a simple one, but away from my usual territory. A friend’s A-class (not sure but think A190) has busted the tailgate latch trim. This makes it difficult to open the tailgate once the latch is released.
As the car is about twelve-fourteen years old, I figure any used part is likely to have a cost exceeding the likely lifespan remaining in the plastic. So new genuine is probably better value. Ordering from OS is no problem, it’s more about who is good value to deal with. Recommendations would be appreciated, thanks. |

Ordered 2 boxes of benz parts and they arrived in about 7 working days 2 weeks ago. Ordered non genuine in some cases, and was supplied genuine which was a pleasant surprise! Have dealt with them A few times and have been very good. Excellent parts catalogues. |

It may be they didn’t sell the A-class in North America, as it’s not listed in their models to choose from.

My nephew used to work at Perth Euro, he reckoned they had tons of parts.
Sorry, can't be more specific than that.

As Franco said Pelican Parts are good, another one to try in Syd would be ASV Euro but a lot of their secondhand stuff is up there with new from the USA
Have you tried putting the part number into Google? https://www.asv.com.au

I don’t touch ASV.
Couldn’t find a part number off “ilcats” that related to any commercial listings in Western Europe, and getting NOS parts out of Russia/Ukraine is like rolling a dice. I think part 120 here: https://www.ilcats.ru/mercedes/?func...=045&imageNo=2 It’s plain black trim, no chrome, no camera. |

There's always Latvia I've bought bits from there, not sure if the same company though.
http://en.autospares.lv/search.html?...ode=on&smode=A Or.....John Greene at MB Spares & Service in the ACT. They no longer carry spares but maybe able to point you in the right direction.

I’ll try getting that tomorrow. It’s a friend’s “divorce trophy” and she tries to keep it going without recourse to her ex-husband’s experience or contacts.

We have had 2 A classes, and a B class over the last 20 years. Always been able to get parts on line from anywhere. Last special bits were window buttons. Just a couple of Euro from some guy in Bulgaria - just a weeks delivery.
Had to get some windscreen washer bits, and I found that the dealer in Mosman was OK. Having said that, a $100 for 2 washer nozzle assemblies was a bit over the top. I found that the common suppliers of Benz bits - such as Silver Benz Spares in Sydney - didn’t have much for A and B classes. |

I used FCPEURO a couple of months ago. Parts arrived in under a week. Prices seem good too.

Pelican Fcpeuro Autohaus az Pelican is the best - but also look on eBay also. With the Benz stuff it’s usually better to know the part number and search on that |

OK Vaso, I think this is the VIN: WDD1690322J624647
A dealer has quoted for the trim, a jumper harness and some screw inserts as if starting from a re-skinned tailgate. The handle alone has been quoted locally at $230-odd inc, supply only. P/N A169740189364 |

I was getting many original BMW parts for my build out of Lithuania and Estonia at favourable prices. Several sellers on Ebay, and they were always reliable, and the parts were always the real deal. (No fakes). It is probably because the shipping cost from there is low cost, and the factory dealer network sell parts there at less cost than in central Europe.
I haven't bought MB parts, but I would have tried any seller on eBay for things like that. |

Highway Clutch & Brake in Melbourne have an absolutely huge range of all braking product and they cater for Brembo stuff, oldskool crew, phone or email - no real internet presence aside from Google, a phone number and oldskool website. Good, very experienced crew though, they ship nationally/international too. Absolutely massive stock range and they have an entire factory that does reconditioning work too. |

Thanks Franco.
I don’t need them yet, but having been quoted around 2k for a set when I bought the thing, I have been on the lookout for the best prices. Knowing I can potentially get a pair for Less than half that, gives me some relief.
