Default F150 and Bronco for Australia

Well if I understand this correctly, this indicates that F150 and Bronco will be available for IMG (International Markets Group), which includes Australia.

https://pbs.twimg.com/media/EaJmw_fX...jpg&name=large

Some rumored specs for the “Raptor” version of the Bronco.

IFS, Solid rear axle, 315/70 R17s, front and rear lockers, electronic sway bar disconnect, 3.0L V6 EcoBoost with around 300kw/560Nm. Should be fun!

2021 F150 announcement in 2 weeks, including a V6 diesel, 3.5L V6 hybrid, and an all-electric version coming in two years. It will be interesting to see if they make a RHD announcement at the same time.

No Mustang Mach-E or Bronco Sport for Australia - A little surprising.

No mention of RHD though, until that happens I wouldn’t get too excited.

Hard to know what constitutes “IMG,” but I would have assumed it wouldn’t have been confined to Mexico. Then I think there’s Asia, Australia, NZ, and South Africa. If I were to place a bet on which of those markets had a higher demand for F150s and Broncos.... But yep, we will see when and if it happens.

I think IMG may include Europe, Africa, Asia (not China), South America, and Oceania ?

Nope. The divisions are North America, Europe, China, South America and IMG.

IMG is basically any country that doesn't fit into the first 4 groups.

They hooked Middle East in with Africa and China was put under Asia Pacific to hide the losses
that's like hiding an elephant turd under a hallway runner, there's just no way around it...LOL.

True, my bad, I think I was thinking of what your PD organisation support with Ranger (apart from North America).

So if Bronco and F150 are for IMG, it has to be Australia/NZ and/or The Middle East. I can't think of what else it could be.

Same chance of this happening as getting a V8 Ranger Raptor.

IMG covers a lot of LHD markets. There is no RHD Bronco coming, they have already said that.

And my sources tell me that the V6 diesel has been quietly dropped from F150.

If anything, I hope the next Everest is a mix of Bronco - Defender at least in side profile,
and just so much more in width than the Land Rover .....

The diesel is staying for the 2021 refresh.

That's very surprising considering the exceptionally poor take rate but it probably
explains why Ford had very little diesel F150 stock before the lock down.

Just had a quick play on the US Ford configuration and you have to order the Lariat version (so not a base model) in the F-150 to be able to option the V6 Powerstroke diesel and it's $4000 extra whch is a lot of fuel to recoup the extra cost. The petrol Ecoboot 3.5V6 turbo is a $1600 option and V8 $1000 so it's not like it's priced competitvely to it's petrol siblings .

They did make fleet XLT available to retail for a while but very few takers
US dealers only have a handful in stock as there’s been almost zero demand
I think that would be the case in spite of being locked into higher trim level.

This guy, Paul Maric, seems to think this a strong possibility also. Also Ranger Raptor to get 3L V6 diesel for Australia, and 2.7 EcoBoost for the US.

Just on Bronco engine tag,
Did Ford just use a 2.7 EB in a long term chassis mule for Bronco?
I could understand that if the actual engine wasn't ready at the time.
It's also a good way of keeping social media fed and competitors in the dark.

I think the 2.7 EB makes sense for the Ranger, as the Colorado is reportedly ditching the 3.6 DOHC V6 (Commodore engine) for the 2.7T I-4, which is great because the 3.6 has absolutely no low end torque whatsoever, accompanied with horrible fuel economy.
