yes you are
and there are so 3spd MPFI my EA was orginally a 3spd MPFI, it even had an LSD, its a GHIA. I found something out and proved it worked, MPFI and CFI fuel pumps are the same execpt one thing, the outlet, u know the differnce, the MPFI is a fully opened end, the CFI one is got like a 4 star screw driver head. So all I did to get some fuel happening, is punched it out with a screw driver and connected, worked like a dream. Your better off MPFIng it and dropping a T5 in to boot, You need to change the ECU but theres no major differnce bettwen the MPFI 5spd and 3-4spd auto ECUs |

no mate i wouldn't dare put a cfi pump in a mpfi, bad bad idea the cfi pump only run at 75-100cc per min and the mpfi pumps will go to 300cc per minute, you will lean the engine out at high revs and under load, stick with what is ment to be.
The other way would be ok because the xces fuel would just run back to the tank via the return line.

there is no specific ecu for a 3 speed, they are not an electronic box.......
you just use an early mpi ecu (S , Ghia) etc...... |
