Well, the day was a fantastic success with hopefully everyone having a great time. I'd like to thank Hallam Performance for getting through them all and accomodating everyones needs and minor changes. Well done guys. Not bad at all mate. For an auto thats a good result. I think it's time for the hurricane exhaust and a CAI. That should bump those figures up. Btw...the CAI setup is in the technical section if you want to have a look.:

Cheers

Herrod exhaust (HPC-coated headers, 2.5" stainless with high flow cat), XR8 snorkel, K&N panel filter and a Herrod HPC intake pipe. Stock cam and no chip. Oh, and a bit of factory-freakishness...

Good day guys, cheers to the organisers and sponsors! :sm_headba

I had a great time! I had alot of laughs and the atmosphere was VERY welcoming. Everyone was so friendly and easy to get along with. I walked up to quite alot of people to introduce myself and chat to and all of them were more than happy to have a conversation and a good laugh. Thanks to everyone for an awesome day!!

About my figures - well I think most people saw how upset and shocked I was. Then I thought well ok let's forget numbers but well, you can understand if it does bother me a little. For the money I've spent, a 125.3 figure just isn't good enough. As soon as I get my sheet, I will go and sort this out!

Again, thanks to all. I'm glad I finally got to put faces to names. Thanks to all the organisers. And to everyone that ran, congratulations on your figures

Great day and some real nice cars parked out the front. V8 capri's BA ghia certainly sounded revvy.MYTE8 just shy of the 200kw a real cheese of plus a real nice car to boot.
I can say my figure of 123kw was higher than I really expected with just a set of pacemaker ph4499 headers & safeway ( caltex premium fuel ) running ultra rich. Only have done oil & filter changes every 5k and coolant change the last two years. So in time I will get a tune on it

Dyno days are a great place to put names to faces and get the excitment going a bit.The numbers vary from dyno to dyno .Last month I got 109 rwkws on a dyno,3 days later 141.1 rwkws on another so dont worry.I think that dyno was down by 9 rwks today.

It seems my car goes against the norm, or does it ????

At the heathcote drags, it was very hot and all the veteran drag racers said their times were atleast half a second off, I was very happy with my first outing and managed a 14.2 on my first ever run. I can not compare it to anything as it was my first outing, but I am hoping that the times were out by .5, which means my car is good for 13.7 (yea... I wish)

Today at the dyno day, also my first time on a dyno, very humid conditions in the morning and the guys that have had their cars on a dyno are also saying that they are getting lower figures then they have had before, so if you are right about the 9kw difference, mines good for around 208rwkw :hihi:

Thanks from the evil side of fence for a good day, oops! morning of entertainment.
I now know where Myer Megamart is at Fountain Gate!;)
Thanks to the organisers V8Capri (nice BA), Casper and LTDHO...Hope I got the names right.
Thanks to Hallam Performance....especially the liner upperer. I actually think in retrospect he might have been right about my car but I am not a car whizz. Ah the joys of Dynos! deseminate those curves!

motomk

P.S.
If anyone sees Cobra...Can you ask him where he left my drivetrain?????;);););)

It was a great day, but once again I think the weather didn't let me get the best numbers that the car is capable of getting. It seems its always hot and humid when I test the car out, first Heathcote (35+), now the dyno day with its high humidity levels early on in the day.

I still had heaps of fun and am very happy with the numbers. The organisers did a great job and the kids cooks a mean snag

I'm not too sure how much the humidity effected todays results. It may have taken a few kw's off but I doubt it would have made a huge difference to most cars. I may be wrong though.

If it was on a dyno dynamics dyno (DDD), and it was run in shootout mode, you are nearly right Casper (in that it makes little difference) - in theory, it is supposed to make zero difference to the results. The readings are what they are. Shootout mode is programmed to correct for high temp, humidity, etc, etc. This way, you are supposed to be able to compare dyno results from one DDD to another, even if they are across the other side of the world! Well.. that's the theory anyway, and assumes that the rollers on the dyno get sufficient grip, the dyno is kept callibrated, etc.

I didn't go to this dyno run, but as my last results were also on a DDD, I think I get bragging rights back over Casper. Until we go head to head, that is - at which time I will be able to tell him what colour smoke comes out of his exhaust (or not).. LOL
