Damn the Commodore Ute outside the Falcon Ute there must be a growing demand for hairdressers to carry equipment around.

Platformwise:

Falcon=5719

Commodore=6111

The two Camry's seem to be down on last month. Not good for a new model.

Hmmm the craptiva is out of the Top30 as well, as is the rest of the Korean Holdens.

The Falcon is where it would be for a model that is getting replaced in 4-5 months.

Once fleet sales pick up the Mondeo and people salary package them in it's sales will bump up over 1000 a month easily.

At least Falcon has climbed back to 4th spot. 2798 isnt bad for an ageing model. Mondeo has just been released so I wouldnt expect sales to be big for another couple of months.

There are some supply constraints on it. FFS Ford, get the car when we have some supply to play with.

Nah

I still reckon MONDEO will not sell well here in AU. That buyer demographic is entrenched with the MAZDA 6 brigade and with the new M6 coming soon........bye bye MONDEO. Great selling car in Europe but may well be a lemon here in AU.

I tend to agree the Mazda 6, Camary and Hondas have that mid size sales over other makes the Mondeo will struggle against them. It might sell well over in Europe but we are more in the Asian region for our small and medium cars as the Lancer is selling well and its not long been released.
When the new Ford Falcon replacement arrives Ford should pick up sales.

Very suprized about the Mondeo.. bloody supply issues.

How stupid can Ford be sometimes? Spend all that money marketing and bringing an absolutely awesome product that is very well priced - Then when someone says "Yup, I'll have one of those in Black" to which Ford say "fine, that will be 4 months"

The scary thing is that it isn't the first time...happened with the XR5T.

The (Focus) XR5 is a Niche Product, however. Ford want the Mondeo to be a mainstream player, but the car they have picked to do that has waiting lists (Europe wide) of months. It is a shame they have been so blaze about the supply constraints, but like Focus, if Ford had all the supply they needed, they would still struggle to move cars. I an starting to worry that Ford won't have enough customers to make the Australian Focus Viable.

And why not ...... it is the buyers choice and rightly so. It might be a bit different if the dealers had some stock to sell but at the time I placed my order there were only demonstrators in any dealers in Brisbane. Initially selected a car that was supposedly available only to find I had missed it by a few minutes. Second choice .... same spec but different colour substituted only to find that it was in the supply preorder chain somewhere on the high seas. How many more are in the same situation?

It is an awesome car .... just can't wait to get hold of mine

I'm not convinced supply issues are the problem. The South African plant can do over 2,000 Focus' a month for FoA. FoA is selling a lot less than that !

Mondeo was never supposed to be a volume seller - in the end it might get 500 odd sales a month - pretty much all of these will go to private buyers

Brand image is the problem for Ford here in Oz. This is serious. It's about the image, dealer experience, and quality. Ford don't have a tick in any of these boxes.

Most new car buyers won't even consider a Ford unfortunately.

Mazda outsold Ford in Passenger cars again.

You nailed it. It is all down to Ford to completely overhaul the customer side of its business, drop the bad dealers, recruit better ones and basically do an ad campaign that says between the lines "We are sorry for the experience you had with us last time. We have heard what you said and we are really trying to be better now, so please at least consider us".

Build quality and basic engineering of Falcon also needs to be improved. No more beta testers with the first new Falcon model either. People don't spend 50K for a test project from Ford that they will fix in three years time for the next customer.

Fail to fix the dealer network and nothing will go that great in sales for Ford now.

Yeah just the way Toyota talked about it before its release I thought it would have been a major force. Instead it just dived the camry sales neatly in 2. As for the 380, I think we can safely say its dead.

A Majority of them are rental sales, hell thats alot of Toyota's sales for that matter. They offer massive deals for rental companies, which Ford and Holden are not willing to match. Toyota will simply do it to get sales, regardless of the fact they are making sweet FA.
You'll be seeing alot more rental 2wd Klugers now too(replacing Territorys)

From memory more Mondeos were sold in October when it was only on sale for about a week. It's XR5T and Fiesta all over again! Fords sales will pick up over the next few years massively, with a new Falcon, Focus, Fiesta (will be built in Thailand, no supply issues), Territory and Kuga. If Holden doesn't clean up its act I could see it being overtaken by Ford. Hard ask I know but a lot can change in a couple of years. Just look at Toyota.

2,000 new Lancers sold in their first month, only 500 behind Mazda 3. This is good news for MMAL.

Interesting - I am not too surprised by Falcon and hopefully Ford can get supply of the Mondeos otherwise it will turn people off the brand

Holden Epica and Captiva dont rate a mention - which is interesting considering both are cheaper than the rivals - maybe people dont buy on $$$

(is very interesting condsidering all of Captivas competition is in there - Ford Terry, Kluger, X Trial etc)

Ford can only get a maximum of 500 Mondeos a month, a number that will easily be surpassed by orders. They are stuck with that number cause thats all Europe will give them even though they could sell much more than that.
