SFS Display stands

Ok guys, here is my first take on some "cheap to make, but professional looking" display stands for Small Ford Sunday. Use your imagination as I didn't bolt it together properly.

The idea is that everyone prepares a "fact sheet" about their cars, and this slips into the perspex holder which is then mounted on the post which sticks in the ground. Simple to make ( I am happy to make enough for everyone)

You mount the perspex by gluing a small piece of timber (with hole drilled through it) to the back with superglue. A hole is drilled towrads the top of the stake. A bolt is then slipped through the stake and through the timber piece to join them together, and allows for adjustment of the angle

Garden stake (Recycled plastic) $2.50
Wing nut, bolt and spring washer a few cents
Small square of timber a few cents each
A3 perspex holder too expensive!





Imagine this standing up straight!



The perspex holders are about $25 each from Officeworks and therefore too expensive IMHO.

If people like the idea, can you keep your eyes out for a cheaper source??

If we can do this, then the Euroford display would look very together and very slick. Not just a line of cars. My view is that people like to be able to read something about the car. If we all had them, then I think it would give the club a much more unified display

Anyway, let's open this up for discussion

Perspex itself is very cheap

Perhaps cut a sheet into A3 size shapes, sandwich 2 pieces of it together, and put some nice chrome allen key bolts in each corner to hold it together.

Would end up making the whole unit about $15 each. Are people willing to contibute that amount?

Plus how many people are we expecting at SFS??

Chris D should have it now in the highest res that I had. In fact, MISTA FIESTA should have it too as he was using it to get the stickers made up. Due to a recent format and my back-ups being here there and everywhere, I will look for it but unsure how long it will take me.

OK. Success!!!!

Found A3 clip and glass frames at Big W for $6.28 each.

Which means with garden stake $2.90, timber, bolts, frame, and glue, I can knock these up for $10 each.

Are people happy to pay this? (Yes I hear you cry!)

Adam, how many should I make do you reckon? 16?

And with these frames you won't need to laminate.

Steve they are A4 Sam reckons. But yes people please email me its.coke@hotmail.com with a hi-res picture. Make 16 and then sell the rest on ebay or xr5turbo.com

I reckon they are better at A3 Adam. If Sam wants to send me the files I can print them at A3.

I think A4 ends up a bit small
