Default Australian Muscle Car Mag

I was sorting through my magazine collection, trying to make some space around the place and i have every copy of Australian Muscle Car mag !!

I looked on E-bay and was suprised to see the number 1 issue going for more than $100, and even some of the later issues fetching $50+ !!

Am i on to a little gold mine or what ????

I think i have most of the Performance Ford mags too.

Anyone else sitting on a little gold mine ??

AMC is a great mag and they have announced that they will not be reprinting. However, if they do then your mag will drop in value to rrp. I have everyonce except the first few. I saw it once, with the Torana on it, but I put it back.

Am I an idiot or what?

amazing ist it.

I work for the goldmine that printed it,and yes I have/had a few copies especially issue 1 my self : :

Its funny when they are in piles on the floor and your standing on 100s of copies of AMC mags to work on the machine you dont relise or care what they are worth.

My wife is going nuts over my collection that I started in 1989 with Hot Fords
#4 with Howards Rock3 on the cover!

I have got maybe 350+ From SM and all there specials ranging from 82-now
all bar the first 2 AMC's plus everything from go-karts to motocross, Auto action and every issue of Speedway racing news since 1999!

I would die if I added up what I have spent on mags over the years but im sure they're worth every penny!! And I doubt I could part with any 1 of them!

AMC is a great mag. I dont have the first edition, but i do have a fair few of them and seeing the nature of the mag it wont date at all.

Let the good times roll.

I've got every issue of AMC, love the great articles about yesterdays muscle car heros. DJ's True Blue XD and Greens Tuf XE were my favourites.

I also have a copy of the first edition of Wheels magazine. I wonder what thats worth today.

Anyone have a mag published in 1978 called "Fords Fords Fords"
It has a pic of Moffats 77 bathurst car on a blue background on the cover?

The first few AMC mages were reprinted awhile ago; I have those reprints .. so now I have a complete set and am a subscriber. IMHO this is the BEST car mag in Australia. Everytime I read an issue I think that I'm mad chasing Yank iron when I should have kept my XB GS coupe and VH Charger 770 ... :(

Rod.

i look at my collection and quietly think to myself how the cost of them could have paid for a $hitload of things that i want done to my own cars LOL. my AMC collection goes from #1 to #22 and all are safely tucked away in plastic sleeving in ring binders.
i had the very first edition of van wheels/street machine back in 1982 along with others stacked under my bed and my mum threw them all out during a spring clean. i'll never let her forget it.

So true. If I hadn't spent money on all those magazines, my car would probably be sitting on superlows! Even still, I am going to keep buying them!

I'm just as bad as you lot, but mine is for hot rod Mag's. I have every copy of Rod and Custom from the very first from 1950 up untill now 2006 and some of the early one are worth up would of $2,000 US. Plus i have all of the Street machine mags right from the Van's day to now as well as well as all of the AMC's. My other bad vice is Phantom Comics. I have all of them thanks to an uncle, the first issue of that is now worth believe it or not $10,000 bucks.

I have all of the AMC's from about the 6th magazine in. Also have all the Motor's from 2000 on and quite a few Modern Motor's and Wheels from the 1980's (when they were interesting).

I do have a sole Modern Motor from the 1960's, where they tested the crackling super fast Aston Marton. Blazed down the quarter mile at a blistering 17.1 :ticking:

Also, between my Brother and I we have alot of Phantoms, including #1 and a few other single digits (not in that good condition however) given to us by a phantom fanatic teacher as well as a numbered print of the Phantom's wedding with Mandrake, Lothar and more on it which is also hand signed by Lee Falk and Sy Barry as well as having their printed signature. :

Cheers,
Lumpy
