The ACMA and UHF CB Australia today confirmed that the new UHF CB radio class licence is now officially in force meaning that UHF CB radio operators now have access to the newly revised 80 channel allocation

Interesting. This is the reason why some UHF's have dropped in price.
The 80ch ones now ask a pretty penny. Still, not keen on the possible interference issues that come with the closer frequency steps. Ill be buying an incar UHF in the coming months so not sure exactly which way to head hmm

If everyone uses legal approved equipment in good order with the standard 5w transmit and transmissin lines and antenna in good condition then it will work well. On the other hand the CB superheroes with the dodgey converted high powered old technology commercial equipment e.g. FM900s or TAITs and/or power amplifiers and/or crappy coax and connectors and/or damaged antennas will cause all sorts of grief with spurious and bleedover. The extended band plan will be useful in places of high concentrations of 4WDs e.g. Fraser Island or any of the other various off road playpens as well as the 10-4 good buddy crowd in the cities...... |
