Looks like the wheel is on in that shot
Just had a look on google maps, nice long straight before a corner and bang, on the grass and into the house. Unfortunate for the occupants of the house. .

Yeah, the Tele (paper version) said it was freshly restored and the st wheel came loose, so maybe tabloid-speak for a disconnect in the steering linkage(s)?

Damn. He's in for a world of hurt with it being unregistered and uninsured.
Sucks to be him. Does that mean every cent he earns will need to go to paying their medical bills and damage to the house? |

Got this off a Legal website:
Furious Driving The offence of furious driving is outlined in section 42 of the Road Transport (Safety and Traffic Management) Act (NSW). If you are convicted of this offence, serious penalties can be imposed such as community service orders, good behaviour bonds, fines, disqualification of your licence and even imprisonment. It is also a separate offence to cause injury to a person by furious driving. The penalties for furious driving If you plead guilty to furious driving, or are found guilty to this charge, the Court will consider a number of factors in determining what punishment to impose such as your driving record, the reason for committing the offence, why you need your licence amongst other factors. The range of penalties available for a Court to impose for furious driving are outlined in the table below: PENALTIES FIRST OFFENCE SECOND OR SUBSEQUENT OFFENCE Maximum court imposed fine $2,200 $3,300 Maximum gaol term 9 months 12 months Minimum disqualification 12 months 2 years Maximum disqualification Unlimited Unlimited Disqualification in the absence of a specific court order (automatic period) 3 years 5 years If you have been convicted of furious driving causing injury the maximum penalty is 2 years imprisonment. Defending the charge of furious driving There are a number of defences available to this offence. If you are successful in defending the charge this means you are found not guilty and no conviction is recorded against you. Such defences include:

I wonder if it was just a quick run around the block and some sideways action to show a mate how well the GT build came up.
If so it’s an expensive one for the victims and as far as the trouble the driver is now in, (well add your own choice of expletive here). |

Furious driving sounds like one of those BS hoon laws which are poorly defined and easily beaten in court due to lack of definition like excessive acceleration.
Hopefully the house owners aren't getting screwed over by their home insurance. It sucks to have to use your own insurance due to the actions of a complete and utter moron but Victims of crimes take so long to give financial aid.

Also the injured people in the car, can't sue his third party as he has none. I see all the passengers were female of various ages. So a bit of the old too much male testosterone for skill level, might of been at play.
