Hey guys and girls,
I'm trying to find a little information on my friends car, she has a 95 Festiva and she went to get a wheel alignment done. the mechanic told her that she had to get a 4 wheel alignment done but before that she would need to get a "rear wheel rack" now i dont know if this is a stupid question or not, but what the hell is a rear wheel rack? is it a rack end similar to the front? I didnt think these little cars came out with 4 wheel steering. any info would be great. Thanks, Tom. |

Where are you based? Sounds like the old muffler bearings are stuffed. Find a better alignment person.

Rockhampton, Queensland. I was honestly going to tell her to go elsewhere cuz it sounded like they were taking her for a ride.

Certainly no 4 wheel steer. My old Eunos 800m had 4WS and I loved it.
I'm not sure what a rear wheel rack is, but I do know my non 4WS camry needs 4 wheel alignment, so they may not be ripping you off there. |

I was thinking maybe they're calling something that everyone else knows it by something else? do you happen to know what is an essential part of a 4 wheel alignment at all?

all the Festivas I know have a torsion beam rear end. This may need replacing if its bent and toe/camber settings are out as I don't believe either are adjustable. The 'rack' could simply be the 'beam' he is reffering too. Call him and ask.
